Our home has an open feel with lots of natural light that is set up for four adults or a family with kids. We are a solar powered home that we remodeled in the spring of 2024 with a wonderful front deck with ample sunshine and views of the trees and a backyard setup with a playground for kids, a grill, small garden, and a fire pit. We also have a hot tub that we operate most times of the year (generally shut down June-early September) and paddle boards.
We have two great decks. One South facing one for sun and great views. The back deck has lots of space and depending on the season there may be fruit (peaches, pears, or plums) or veggies from the garden. We also have a grill that has a gas, charcoal, and a smoker option. In the kitchen we have a Vitamix, InstantPot, double waffle maker, and CrockPot among other yummy cooking accessories.
The Space
We have a three bedroom space on the upstairs with two bathrooms. We have two children and so are certainly set up if you have children.
Our master has a king bed, another bedroom has a queen bed with adjustable base, and the third bedroom has a twin sized bed with three stairs to get up into it that also has a sleeping space in the bottom. Bathrooms were just remodeled in the spring of 2024 along with a lot of other pieces.
Guest Access
Single story with access straight into house up two stairs from garage.
Notes
We generally operate on the school schedule and open to options summer, winter and spring break!
We also have a great electric cargo bike that we are open to sharing.

Neighbourhood
We are located on the Westside of Bend in a family neighborhood that backs up to woods with trails and just a 3 mile ride to Phil's trailhead (the main mountain biking trail system). Our front deck looks out over the trees below as we are on a hill and is soaked in sun quite often. We are also just a mile from downtown to access all the restaurants and shops.
Bend is a wonderful four season destination spot. Come in the winter for snow sports including Mt Bachelor or the summer for all the lakes, rivers, and sunshine. Fall and spring are equally beautiful with a ton of activities. IkonPass holders will love using our home as a base for Mt Bachelor.
Getting to my home
You can fly to Redmond airport (RDM) and then it is about a 20 minute drive to our house. Or fly into Portland and it is a 3 hour drive.

Sean
We are a family of four with our boy Denali and girl Sedona (8 and 6 in 2025). Both of us are mental health counselors and educators. Sean is also a professor of Psychology and Addiction Studies at the local community college near our house. We absolutely love travel, being out in nature, and experiencing getting to know new people and ways of engaging with the world. We made a conscious choice to restructure our life at the beginning of 2021 to allow for more family and travel time while our kids are on the younger side and have done many exchanges since then. We have done over 50 Home Exchanges since then.
"Our daughter is named Sedona since my wife and I met in Prescott, AZ and our first adventures were in Sedona. Would love to bring the family there."

"We love playing in Moab on bikes, rocks, and by foot."

We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
