Asheville is a lively mountain town, with incredible food, music, art, and some of the best hiking east of the Mississippi. Travel & Leisure named Asheville one of the top 50 places to visit in 2020. It's #3 on this list: https://www.travelandleisure.com/trip-ideas/best-places-to-travel-in-2020 There are dozens of waterfalls nearby, more craft breweries per capita than anywhere in the country, and Yelp named Asheville the "Best Food City in America." We have a beautiful and spacious home with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, an extra full kitchen on the lower level (along with a bedroom and bath that we're happy to use for hospitality exchanges), a music room with a baby grand piano and guitars, and a large outdoor balcony surrounded by the beautiful trees of western North Carolina.

- The main level includes the recently renovated and spacious kitchen, family room with gas fireplace, dining room, music room with baby grand piano and guitar, one half bath, and a large mud room with washer and dryer. - The upstairs includes 3 bedrooms, all with queen sized beds. Sean's room also has a twin bed. There are two full bathrooms upstairs as well. - The lower level has a full kitchen, bedroom with a queen bed, bathroom, and living area with a full size sofa pull out. It also has access to the outside from two different access points. Master bedroom - 1 queen bed (full master bath) Sean's room - 1 queen bed & 1 twin bed (shared bath) Gavin's room - 1 queen bed (shared bath) Lower Level - 1 queen bed and full size sofa pull out

There are three floors. All bedrooms are up or down a flight of stairs.

The closest airport is AVL which is 20 mins from our home. GSP is 1 hour & 10 mins, and CLT is 2 hours away. When flying internationally we almost always fly in and out of CLT.

We are located 3 miles north of downtown Asheville tucked into a beautiful neighborhood on a dead end street surrounded by beautiful trees that create a haven of privacy. We are a short distance to the Historic Grove Park Inn, Beaver Lake, UNC Asheville (also home to the weekly farmers' market), the Botanical Gardens, and to several area restaurants. Our home is less than 10 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 15 minutes to the gates of the Biltmore Estate. We are 1 hr and 15 mins away from the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Outdoor activities for the area include hiking, biking, rock climbing, white-water rafting, tubing, and geocaching. We highly recommend the website: romanticasheville.com for information on festivals/events, restaurants, and outdoor activities.

It would be best to have a car. Public transit is not the best here in Asheville. *We are open to, and have done many car exchanges in the past.

Member description
We are an active family of four always looking forward to the next home swap. We love to explore new places and cultures, music, national parks, and especially the outdoors (hiking, biking, camping). We also love good food and appreciate getting recommendations from our exchange partners wherever we go. Brian is a music professor at UNC Asheville, a jazz pianist, and enjoys playing tennis. Bridget is a flight attendant and health coach, and loves yoga and rock climbing. Our boys, Sean (age 11), and Gavin (age 9), are currently on a mission to solve the 3X3 Rubik's cube in under 20 seconds. They also like to rock climb and play baseball. Home Exchange has become a lifestyle for us. We've made incredible friendships along the way, and there's truly no other way we'd rather explore the world than through sharing/swapping our home with other home-exchangers. We will treat your home and belongings with the utmost respect. We're open to traveling just about anywhere, so drop us a line and we'll see if we can make a swap! So far our exchanges have taken us to: Amelia Island, FL Brooklyn, NY Chicago, IL Oak Park, IL Oakland, CA Polignac, France Roskilde, Denmark Amsterdam, Netherlands Boca Raton, FL Robbinsville, NC Prospect, ME Dublin, Ireland Chapel Hill, NC Southern Shores, NC We look forward to many more!
