Neighbourhood
Walking trails just down the road with conservation land across the street for your endless exploration. 2.5 miles down the road is the quintessential New England style town center featuring the little white church, country store, library and town hall.
The main grocery store is a 6 minute drive away and home is 5 minutes from the interstate, convenient for travel but the home maintains it's private, woodsy feel.
Canterbury holds different community events depending on the season. Mid March you'll have NH Maple Weekend when you can visit different sap houses and have tastings, buy goods, visit farms and listen to live music. The summer brings the weekly farmers market, the Canterbury Fair, and summer concerts on the town green. Throughout the year you'll see community meals like the town Thanksgiving dinner and Santa's pancake breakfast.
There is a good chance you'll see wildlife on your stay including wild turkeys, deer, moose, black bear, and foxes.
Nearest airport
MHT - Manchester Airport is 35 minutes away and is the closest airport. BOS Logan international airport is usually more economical and is 90 minutes away.
Getting Around
A car is the best way to get around Canterbury and New Hampshire in general, especially if you're going to take full advantage of what this diverse state has to offer geographically.

Hello nice to meet you! We are a family of 4. My husband John and I have 2 boys age 5 and 6. We love our home in Canterbury, NH. It's where I grew up and it officially became ours in 2018. John & I, we want to give our two boys all the experiences that we can in the short amount of time that they are allowed to be carefree and children. While our jobs keep us local for much of the year, our goal is to take 1-2 trips a year with them and show them the world. If other members of the PLU community would enjoy our home as well, what a wonderful thing to share!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
