General Overview
A simple home in a idealic location - on the foothills of the mountain and a 20 minute cycle to the city. We're surrounded by wildlife and have excellent cafes nearby.
Our home is warm and comfy with two bedrooms, a large driveway, high speed internet and two work-spaces.
It would suit a couple, a digital nomad or a small family.
It's the perfect spot for chilling in nature and wildlife watching - just a 10 minute drive or 20 scenic cycle to city.
Why we love it:
- Walking trails and waterfalls - 2 minute walk to Cascade walking trail
- Mountain bike trails - 1 minute ride from the trail head
- Platypus watching hotspot! We're a 15 minute walk from some of the best platypus viewing in the country
- History and heritage - Cascade Brewery tours, Cascade bar and gardens, the World Heritage Female Factory
Our favourite thing is cycling home along the Hobart Rivulet track and seeing countless pademelons and native hens and often bandicoots, platypuses or an echidna.
Our home is a great base for a stressfree adventure amougst the fresh air, native animals, coffee and the city delights.

Neighbourhood
South Hobart has great cafes and local shops.
Our home is on a cul-de-sac.
There's a playground a 10 minute walk away.
Getting to my home
Fly in to Hobart airport then get a taxi for around $70.
(There's also a regular bus (Sky Bus) from the airport to Hobart city which might save you money - but you'd then need to travel 6km to the house.)
Nearest airport
Hobart airport. 25 mins in a taxi.
Getting Around
Cycling - South Hobart has one of the highest cycling rates in the country! This is likely due to great Rivulet Track that runs into the city centre.
Driving - we have a large driveway - just watch out for native wildlife at night.
Taxi/Uber - it's about $15 from the city centre.
Dockless share e-scooters and e-bikes. You can ride these up the Rivulet Track and park them at the Cascade Brewery - then it's a 10 minute walk.
Bus - buses are fine during peak hours, but limited in the evening and weekend. Check the "Metro" timetable for number 446 and 447.
Walk - it's about 60 minutes into the city centre - but very scenic and great for seeing platypuses.

We're Anna and Tim and have a new born. We love the simplicity of Hobart, the outdoors and the local wildlife.
We're hoping to experience some new places with the small baby. Tim works remotely and Anna has a year off work.
We love cycling, history, museums, the outdoors and big cities. Tim is a paraglider.
