Jim and Sue Bodenner
The Bodenner’s are retired professionals. Jim is a retired lawyer, and they owned and operated a long-term care business in Michigan for 25 years and Sue ran the day-to-day operations. They sold their business in 2013 and moved to The Villages in Florida in 2016.
They have three grown children and seven grandchildren. Jim and Sue were best friends in high school and have been married since 1971. They own a custom Airstream trailer, and they travel off grid in the United States for a couple of months each summer. They have had a lifetime commitment to humanitarian service, and Jim and Sue have been members of Rotary for 25 years and they have been involved in raising millions of dollars to fund Rotary projects in developing counties.
Personal interests include - Ancestry research, reading, fitness and strength training, tandem cycling, black and white photography, music, theater events, wellness activities including massage, medication and yoga. They are active in their church.
As a result of a cardiac event Jim had in 2023 Jim and Sue have dramatically changed their lifestyle and have switched to a whole food plant-based diet. They take health and fitness very seriously and educate people through a large plant-based club in The Villages. Plant based nutrition, exercise and relaxation are critical to their new lifestyle.
The Village is the crown jewel of Central Florida. The Villages is internationally known as the largest 55+ community on the planet, with over 160,000 fun-loving residents, 50+ golf courses and enough pools and recreation centers to make an Olympic coach dizzy.
Every evening brings live music to one of its easy to reach three town squares. That’s 365 nights of line-dancing, swing-dancing, or just mellow swaying while your ice cream melts. There are tons of restaurants in The Villages and the Bodenner’s can point you in the direction of healthy plant-based options.
