General Overview
An easy-going, comfortable family home. It's close to shops, cafes, restaurants, the airport and the city. But we're also across the road from a great green space, with three parks for the kids and a short walk to bushland. Honestly, we're spoilt and have the best of all worlds.
The Space
Our two-storey home is a family space. The main living space is upstairs, with three bedrooms, the main bathroom and an open-plan kitchen and living area. For extra space, throw open the doors to enjoy the covered deck and view of the garden and nearby park.
Downstairs you'll find the multi-purpose room (MPR), which is a great play spcae for the kids, the second bathroom (loo and washbasin) and two more bedrooms, as well as the laundry.
About the bedrooms/sleeping spaces.
Our place is a 5-bed house, but curently only 3 rooms are set up with beds.
Master bedroom: queen bed.
Bedroom 2 (upstairs): king single.
Bedroom 3 (downstairs): double.
We have a queen-size fold-out bed in the MPR.
One bedroom upstairs is currently used as a dressing room and the other one downstairs is used as Rose's office. (Images to come.) Depending on your family size and arrangements, we're happy to transform these other rooms into extra bedrooms for your stay. But let's chat about that.
Outside you'll find a large back garden and front yard. As you'll be visiting in winter, there shouldn't be much need to mow the lawns. (Another perk of visiting during the Queensland winter.)
We have undercover parking for up to 2 cars, but the driveway can take 4 vehicles.
The best bit is the deck though. Sit with your friends and family around the large wooden table, get the BBQ going and enjoy the sound of the kookaburras as the sun goes down.
Guest Access
This is a two-storey home with internal stairs and another external staircase out the back.
There are some smaller steps inside the house to get around the downstairs area, so it wouldn't be so easy for anyone needing a wheelchair or walker.
Notes
Our place is a family home that's loved and lived in.
Sure, we keep it tidy and neat(ish), but we're not an ultra-sleek, modern, grouting-whiter-than-a-Hollywood-A-lister's-teeth kinda family. Know what I mean?
We don't sweat the little details when it comes to home presentation and we won't cry if the cushions are tossed on the floor and used to build a cubby house.

Close to Westfield shopping centre.
Great cafes and local shops/take out restaurants.
Getting to my home
There are good bus connections to get in and out of the city and to the surrounding suburbs.

Rose
Hiya, we are Rose, Colin and Harlan. A happy, adventurous family of three, ranging in age from 4 to mid-40s.
Colin is Australian and Rose is English. He works in cyber security and she is a copywriter. (It's sometimes easier just to say marketing.)
Before having a little one, we did a lot of travelling - around the UK, parts of Europe, across the Americas and back here in Australia. Since starting family life, we've kept our holidays mostly domestic (in Australia) but have had the privilege of taking the kid to the UK when he was 2.
With school years approaching, we're hoping to do a mega trip to the UK and Europe before that kicks in. To show Harlan some more of the world, but also to be close to Rose's family during our extended holiday.
