General Overview

A large detached house on the Wiltshire/Dorset/Somerset border. Set in a quite cul de sac in the Dorset countryside. We are a retired couple and love to travel and sharing or swapping our home with others is a great way to do this.

The Space

Our 4 bedroom detached house was recently renovated and incorporates all mod cons. There is a lovely sitting room with two leather sofas and TV which has Netflix etc. The large open plan kitchen/diner has a fully equipped kitchen including two ovens, dishwasher and washing machine. We also have an island for casual dining and a dining table for entertaining and a utility area with tumble drier. Downstairs there is also a small office and cloakroom. There are three very good sized double bedrooms and a large light office . One bedroom has an ensuite and there is a family bathroom with a bath and shower. We have a front garden, with driveway and a well looked after low maintenance garden at the back, complete with patios and a modern summerhouse with power and lighting. There is also an attached garage that can be accessed from the kitchen

The house is over 3 floors with stair access to each floor. The driveway is on a slope and the house is accessed by steps

Neighbourhood

We live in a friendly village in Dorset, at the end of a quiet cul de sac in the countryside close to Stourhead Garden. Historic Shaftesbury and Bruton (with the world famous art gallery) are nearby along with lots of quaint villages. Bath and Salisbury are 50 mins away and the Jurassic coast an hour. Within walking distance is a shop, garage and a excellent country pub serving great food, along with fantastic walks right from our back door. The usual shops and supermarkets are close by.

Getting to my home

As we live in a village, your own car transport is required as public transport does not really serve the village

Nearest airport

Bristol and Bournemouth are the nearest airports but both Heathrow and Gatwick are accessible by train or road

Getting Around

As we live in a village, your own car transport is required as public transport does not really serve the village. There is a train station in the next town with direct trains to London Waterloo
