Neighbourhood

Klepp is located in the heart of Jæren, a beautiful region on Norway's southwest coast. Jæren is known for its unique landscape and some of the most beautiful beaches in Norway, at least if you ask me! The North Sea is often too cold for a swim, but a walk along the beach is always an energy boost. The nearest beaches are only a seven minute drive from our house. Nearby, just a five minute drive from our house, is the small town of Bryne. In recent years, it has gained several cozy restaurants and cafés. Bryne is also the hometown of one of the world's best footballers, Erling Braut Haaland, and you can spot a few murals of him around town. Stavanger is the nearest city and is about a 25 minute drive away. It has plenty of great restaurants, shops and places worth visiting, including Old Stavanger and the beautiful cathedral in the city centre. If you enjoy hiking, the famous Pulpit Rock is within easy reach. It is about a 45 minute drive from our house to the parking area where the hike begins. It is one of Norway's most famous hikes for a reason. The view over the Lysefjord from the top is simply breathtaking. There are many other beautiful hikes in the area as well, and I would be more than happy to share some of my favourites if you are looking for ideas. If you would like to experience the fjords from the water, sightseeing boats leave from Stavanger harbour every day. Welcome to our home in Klepp! We hope you will enjoy exploring Jæren and Rogaland as much as we do. If you would like recommendations for beaches, restaurants, hikes or day trips, I would be more than happy to help you plan your trip and make the most of your time here.

Nearest airport

Sola airport, 20 min drive from our house. it It is best to have a rental car when your exploring our area.

Getting Around

Astrid

My name is Astrid, and I travel together with my husband Geir and our three children, Malene (17), Lars (16) and Håvard (14). Travelling is something we enjoy doing as a family, and we like experiencing new countries, places and everyday life in different parts of the world. We enjoy exploring places with a sense of history, trying local food, and staying active during our trips. Sometimes that means walking a lot in cities, other times hiking or spending time outdoors. I have worked as a teacher for many years, and Geir works as an engineer. We are comfortable in both big cities and smaller towns, and we are open to travel all over the world. We are interested in house exchange as a way to travel more locally and experience destinations in a more everyday, lived-in way. For us, travelling is about spending time together, sharing experiences, and creating memories as a family.
