General Overview

We LOVE the Eastern light shining through the kitchen and the spaciousness. We also love that its location is perfect for us - truly a "10 minute" city, walkable to a classic Japanese garden, shrines, the library, parks, stores, restaurants, bus stop, etc.

The Space

2 floors with 2 bedrooms for your use upstairs. Our bedroom spaces have Japanese futons on the floors. We find them incredibly comfortable and hope you do too. The side tatami room (off of the main LDK (Living/Dining room/Kitchen combination), is currently used as a "Book Corner" for children. Although it is not a true tatami room, it resonates a "Wafu (和風)/Japanese-style" with a low heated table (wonderful in the winter!) and floor seating. This tatami room is flexible and can be changed from its current "Children's book corner" room to a playroom (toys in the closet) or to a downstairs bedroom.

Guest Access

You are welcomed to enjoy our entire house, minus one double upstairs bedroom. (which we did not include in the bedroom count) as we need one room to keep our stuff. Feel free to discuss greater usage possibilities if needed or desired. Upstairs: 2 bedrooms: Bedroom #1: Double floor futon Bedroom #2: Two twin floor futons Downstairs: Tatami room can be converted into a sleeping space, if desired. When communicating with us, let us know how you would like the futons arranged.

Notes

We are in a great location for those who want to explore local, suburban Japan. Tokyo is about 1.5 hours away from our home, door to door. Downtown Yokohama and the Minato Mirai Port area is about 30 minutes away by bus. The nearest train station is about 30 min away. 3 Bikes are available if desired It is easy to catch taxis or to use the APP TaxiGo to catch taxis.

Neighbourhood

We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood, near a Junior High school. Since we live near a bus line, you sometimes can hear the busses pass by on their routes. As listed in the description, we are walkable to a classic Japanese garden named Sankei-en Gardens, shrines, the library, parks, stores, restaurants, bus stop, etc

Getting to my home

The easiest way to our home is to arrive into Tokyo-Haneda or Narita International Airport and then take a direct limousine bus to the stop known as YCAT (Yokohama City Air Terminal). From YCAT, enlist a taxi who will take you to our area.

Nearest airport

Haneda Airport, also known as Tokyo International Airport or Tokyo-Haneda is nearest Narita International Aiport is also convenient when using the YCAT bus.

Getting Around

Walking distances: Nearest Bus stop: 3 minutes Nearest restaurant (Hawaiian themed): 3 minutes Nearest sushi shops: 3 and 10 minutes Nearest grocery store and department stores: 3 minutes Nearest library/air conditioned inside play area for children as well as outside playground/park for children: 3 minutes Nearest Japanese garden, Sankei-en gardens: 15 minutes Nearest shrine: Honmoku Jinja: 15 minutes
