Mid-Century Modern home with views, decks and lots of light (and privacy!) on a hillside street in a scenic, peaceful, safe and friendly neighborhood.
In Eagle Rock, located in NELA (North East Los Angeles) close to Occidental College.
The Space
Set into the hillside, it's a home filled with art, books, colors, good vibes and comfortable furnishings. Spend time out on the main deck to enjoy LA weather and sunsets or city lights at night, or stay inside for a cozy evening in front of the fireplace, watching TV or listening to music. (Hi-Speed Wifi, Bluetooth Speaker & Roku for streaming services + DVD/VCR players.)
Built in 1958 with post-and-beam construction, the house has a large living/dining area, fully equipped kitchen and three bedrooms - primary bedroom has a private deck and en-suite bathroom, and second bedroom has fantastic views to nod off/wake up to. Third bedroom is set up as an office or creative workspace (a blow-up double mattress is available for visitors) with printers, which also has stunning views - to inspire and/or to distract. There is another full bathroom with a tub.
Right outside the back door is is a kitchen garden (and barbecue) and a parking space in an attached carport.
Guest Access
The house is on one floor with no steps, although there are steps to lower apartment (occupied by a tenant) and house is set below street, so driveway is on an incline
Notes
Two low-maintenance, indoor cats live here. They're both pretty chill and Mick is very friendly.
A tenant (also friendly!) lives in an apartment under the house, but there is a separate, private entrance. You will share parking in the carport (2 spaces total).
Bi-weekly or monthly housecleaning can be arranged. The landscaping does not need maintenance, although plants in pots on deck and kitchen garden would appreciate watering.

Neighbourhood
Tons of fun local spots to eat, drink, shop and hang out; a short drive to Downtown LA, Echo Park, Pasadena and the San Fernando Valley. Right next to other popular neighborhoods like Silverlake, Highland Park, Atwater Village and Glassell Park.
The street is up a hill, and it's a great area for walks around the neighborhood, down through the college campus and to the nearby recreation center, which has a pool, basketball and volleyball courts, a large athletic field and events.
Getting to my home
Yes, this is LA, so you'll probably want a car.
In terms of public transport, main bus routes run regularly on major cross streets less than a mile from house. Closest Metro Stations are Gold Line Southwest Museum & Highland Park (just over 3 miles so rideshare best to/from house).
Nearest airport
Hollywood/Burbank Airport is 30-45 minutes depending on traffic; LAX 1-1.5 hours. It's a 30-minute drive to Union Station (for train connections and LAX Flyaway).
Getting Around
There are bars, restaurants, coffeehouses and shops in walking distance, but for most errands you'll probably want to drive. (Although anything you want is within 5-10 minutes.)
Nearby (driving distance): Dodger Stadium (20 minutes), Universal City (25 minutes), Hollywood (30 minutes), Santa Monica (1 hour).

I'm a writer who loves Los Angeles, loves her home and also loves to be other places... for work and inspiration, and just to play. I work in theater and am happy to introduce visitors to the active LA arts scene.
