General Overview
We are fortunate to have 2 acres of natural paradise on a quiet cove of Lake Arrowhead (1000 acres), Maine. We have a 150m long boardwalk that winds its way through a wooded area of the property and a dock on the lake. A large campfire spot is just a few steps away from the water and is surrounded by tall trees. There are multiple BBQ options on a large deck with a pergola that provides shade and outdoor lounging with a view of the lake. The house has central air conditioning, and a solarium if you wish to be inside and view the lake too. The well equipped kitchen has an induction stove, large refrigerator, dishwasher. The main bedroom also looks out over the lake.
We take great care of our house and yard and will take equal care of yours.
There are three nice hiking trails within about 10 miles and many more beyond that.
Sebago lake is 20 miles away.
Lake Winnipesauke in New Hampshire is 33 miles away.
There are numerous lighthouses to be viewed along the Maine coast including the famous Nubble Lighthouse just over an hour's drive away.
The city of Portland, which is highly rated for its restaurants, is also an hour away.
One can also do a day trip around the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
The Space
There are three bedrooms, and we listed occupancy as '5', but there is also plenty more space if (say) children are OK sleeping on foam mattresses we have.
The house has three levels: Basement, main level and top floor.
Main level has Kitchen, Dining area, living area, solarium, a bedroom and a bathroom with shower. A large deck is also at this same level and is accessed through large sliding door.
The top level has the main bedroom, a study (off limits), third bedroom (also used as a TV room, TV is streamed via Roku with Netflix subscription), and main bathroom with bath and shower.
Both bathrooms have bidet equipped toilets.
The basement also has a chest freezer, second refrigerator and workbench and tools. A walk-out door to the area below the main deck has a sink and portable generator for backup power.
A huge carport provides shelter for two cars and firewood.
The bed in the bedroom on the main level is a double, but has no base (mattress is on the floor) as the room is usually used as a study. If a base is needed, for say, two adults, we can probably make a plan.
There are currently no pets in the house but we did look after two cats in 2024.
There is central Air Conditioning and air is circulated throughout the house.
Many lights are voice controlled.
Guest Access
High speed internet with wifi.
An electric car is available if we can also use a car.
Access to club gym, sauna and indoor pool (about 2 miles away) is included.
The upstairs study and a large model train layout in basement is off limits
Notes
More pictures of inside the house will be added soon!
The car available is electric. Our insurance company will need name, date of birth and licence number to quote what it would cost to add you to the insurance for the duration of the stay. No doubt any car we use at your end will have similar requirements.
