Hospitality Description: Our 2nd bedroom is small, and only has a double-bed. We tried fitting in a queen, and it didn't work!
We own a cottage one hour away, so we can (happily!) move there to make way for a non-Sim, a non-Reciprocal or a Hospitality.

Neighbourhood
We are a 5-minute walk from downtown and the ferry to Halifax (which takes 8mins to cross the harbour).
There are numerous excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance (including three on our street). Halifax's best cocktail bar, Dear Friend, is one block away.
Halifax has more bars per capita than any other Canadian city - probably something to do with having SIX degree-granting institutions - so late August/early September the city is positively throbbing!
Halifax is big on sports: we have two pro soccer teams (men's and women's), and a pro lacrosse team. Our hockey team, the Mooseheads, play in the Quebec Major Junior league.
[I'm a big fan of Liverpool Football Club and we all meet on game days at Durty Nelly's Irish Bar.]
I love live theatre, and Halifax has lots! Neptune Theatre is large and middle-of-the-road, whereas the nearby ScotiaBank Stage shows more edgy stuff. Bus Stop Theatre, Eastern Front Theatre, and Theatre Arts Guild are smaller. Not to be missed is Shakespeare-By-The-Sea - two outdoor plays in the summer in Point Pleasant Park.
Nova Scotians are VERY friendly and unfailingly polite: don't stand still on a sidewalk, or Halifax drivers will assume you want to cross the road and both lanes of traffic will stop for you! (If it happens to you, *cross the road anyway* and say Thank You).
Sightseeing Sites include:-
* Halifax Public Gardens = outstanding!
* Halifax Boardwalk = 3km, on the harbour!
* Citadel Hill = the most visited national historic site in Canada (because it's right downtown)!
* Fairview Lawn Cemetery = final resting place of 121 victims of the sinking of the Titanic.
* Maritime Museum of the Atlantic = exhibits on the Titanic and the Halifax Explosion.
* Harbour Hoppers = amphibious WW2 vehicles that explore the city AND the harbour!
* Markets = two in Halifax, one in Dartmouth.
* Festivals = too many to list, but Fringe is my fave!
* Art Gallery of NS = Maude Lewis's actual house!
* Tidal Bore Rafting = the Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world (so we raft on it!). 90min drive.
* Peggy's Cove & Lighthouse = stay off the black rocks! 90min drive.
* Lawrencetown Beach & Cow Bay = surfing!!! 45min drive.
* Golf courses = everywhere!
* Clam Harbour = where the professional sand-castle builders go! 60min drive
* Martinique Beach = loooooooooong....!! 60min drive.
* Crystal Crescent Beach #3 = the only legal nude beach in NS! 45min drive
*Historic Wolfville is 60mins away; Lunenburg is 90mins; Annapolis Royal 2hrs.
Nearest airport
Halifax International Airport (YHZ): 25 mins by car or 40 mins by bus.
