Neighbourhood

My neighbourhood is residental but includes a lot of cultural gems! There are many cool art spaces, event locations, and cafés nearby. My flat is near the historic Luisenbad Library and Schinkel church, as well as the Humboldthain, a huge park built around the remains of a WW II bunker! Also around the corner is the historic Bösewitzbrücke, which is the point where the Berlin Wall was first breached, so a truly special place. There is a permanent and free little exhibition and ruins of the wall. If you look for a little nearby nature, the beautiful Panke Park with the river Panke is 5 minutes away, the Humboldthain 11 minutes. My favourite places to eat include the Spanish Tapas bar El Pepe, the traditonal German bakery Stern, and Cafe Pförtner, a cafe/restaurant built out of a converted train wagon^^

Getting Around

My flat has excellent public transfer conections like the U8, Tram and S-Bahn. Tram Station Grüntaler Str. : 3 minute walk U8 Station Pankstraße: 10 min walk Train Station Gesundbrunnen: 11 min walk and the direct FEX train from the BER airport stops here :) Berlin Hauptbahnhof (mainstation): 16 min with public transfer If you are able, I recommend that you rent a bike or e-scooter during your stay - biking is the most authentically Berlin way to move through the city and often faster than public transport on short and middle ranges :)
