Neighbourhood

Location Highlights: Our home is in a safe, family-friendly neighborhood in Ixelles, one of Brussels’ most vibrant and desirable areas. You'll have everything you need just around the corner: bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies, cafés, restaurants, and boutique shops. There are several parks and green spaces within a 5–10 minute walk, ideal for children, joggers, or simply enjoying a coffee outdoors. Street parking is available (paid), and public transport options are excellent for getting around the city and beyond. Local Attractions & Things to Do: Ixelles offers the best of Brussels – a mix of culture, history, and everyday charm. You'll be close to: The Art Nouveau trail, with stunning architecture by Victor Horta The Ixelles Ponds and Parc Tenbosch for peaceful walks or family picnics The Flagey Square area, known for its weekend markets, concerts, and food scene The trendy Chatelain district, perfect for evening drinks, boutique shopping, or a casual dinner Easy access to Brussels’ top sights: Grand Place, Royal Palace, Magritte Museum, Atomium, Bozar, and more Families will find plenty to enjoy: Mini-Europe, the Natural Sciences Museum, and children’s play areas throughout the neighborhood. Art and history lovers, foodies, and outdoor enthusiasts alike will feel at home here. Explore Beyond Brussels: One of the biggest advantages of staying here is how central and well-connected it is. You can take easy day trips by train to: Antwerp (45 min) – fashion, art, and beautiful historic streets Ghent (40 min) – canals, castles, and culture Bruges (1 hr) – fairy-tale charm and medieval beauty Belgian coast (1.5 hrs) – beaches and seafood Paris (1.5 hrs by Thalys) Amsterdam (2 hrs) Luxembourg, Cologne, and London (just over 2 hrs) I really do feel that Belgium and Brussels are over shadowed by their big cousins Paris and Amsterdam and their little cousin Bruges. But don't pass us by. We have so much to offer. The most beautiful Grand Place, quirky stories, the best beers, #belgianfries, chocolate, waffles and so much more.

Holly

We are an Australian-Belgian couple with three energetic and kind-hearted kids — an 8-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy, and a 3-year-old boy. Our home is lively, full of laughter, and guided by a relaxed, easygoing vibe. We also share our space with two affectionate cats who love a sunny window or a cozy lap. As a family, we value kindness, connection, and the little joys in everyday life. We’re friendly open-minded, and always happy to meet new people and share new experiences. My husband and I are both school teachers so we are stuck to taking our vacations during Belgian school holidays. We will be as flexible in this as possible.
