Neighbourhood
10 min walk to downtown Culver City with many coffee shops and restaurants. 6 mile bike ride on protected Ballona Creek bike path to Venice Beach. 1.5 mile walk or short bike or Culver City bus ride to Metro E line light rail to Santa Monica or downtown LA.
Hidden gem: Jackson Market, a delightful neighborhood deli on a residential street, has a lush garden where you can dine at tables behind the market, with a koi pond, lanterns, and a pizza oven.
Two interesting museums are walkable from our house: the Wende Museum of the Cold War and the Museum of Jurassic Technology (just as weird and fascinating as it sounds).
Getting to my home
Air: LAX (LA international airport) is about a 15 min drive from here.
Road: We are about one mile from the I-405 freeway, exit is Culver Blvd.
Rail: You can take the Amtrak train from many destinations (Santa Barbara or San Diego, for example) to Union Station in downtown LA and transfer to the light rail E line to Culver City. Then you would take an Uber/Lyft, transfer to a city bus, or walk the 1.5 miles from the station.
Nearest airport
Los Angeles International Airport is 6 miles away. Taxi or Uber/Lyft recommended, usually about $25 -$30.
There is a Culver City bus, but the 6 bus that serves LAX would require a half mile walk to reach our house from Sepulveda Blvd. Or you could transfer buses.
Getting Around
It is a ten minute walk to downtown Culver City and about a 20-25 minute walk to the Metro E line light rail stop.
Most visitors to LA will rent a car. It is a relatively flat city with year round good weather so biking is feasible. Culver City is its own municipality and has a good bus system. The LA city bus system is OK but overall light rail is preferable.
