General Overview

Hi, my name is Kajal and I am a single mom and new to the site. I was very excited to find this website - I got laid off from my job a few days ago and decided I should make the best of this summer by spending it with the kiddos in a beautiful place like Hawaii! My son is 15 and my daughter is 10 and my best friend will also be joining us! If you agree, we would love to bring 1 or 2 cats too. we are available this summer 7/13 to 8/19 (approx) but our home will be available 7/6 - 8/19 approx and We were really hoping to find something for most of that duration and making it worth the long and expensive flight! 🙂 I wanted to introduce myself in case this might work for us! We are located in a suburb of Washington DC and are new to the site. We have a large beautiful home with 4 bedrooms and an office. It is 2 levels with a 2-car garage. We also have a deck out back and face west so somehow we get the most beautiful sunsets every day! I also have a soaking tub in the master bath and 2 king beds, 1 queen, 1 bunk (bottom is full size and top is twin). Anyway, it was nice to meet you and hope we can work something out! Thanks!

The Space

We are located in northern Virginia (20148), approx 45 mins to DC, which has tons to do like history / museums / events / famous US landmarks, Potomac river and river tours., etc. DC is a great tourist spot with the White House, the capitol building, Washington monument, jefferson and Lincoln memorials and tons of museums like air and space, black history, art museums, and even a selfie museum! You can take a boat ride from inner harbor in Baltimore for an evening excursion or a tour or watch fireworks while sailing! Baltimore also has a casino, baseball stadium, and incredible crabs! So much to do and see and easy to keep busy for a month. My home is large, with 4 bedrooms and an office, that is also converted to a bedroom. We also have 2.5 bathrooms, a deck facing the beautiful sunset every night, and a large soaking tub in the master. We have w full large kitchen and 2 car garage as well! The travel dates we have available are July 13 - August 18 and would love to find an extended swap. We are only approx 4 hours to NY, 2.5 hours to Busch Gardens, 1.5 hours to Kings Dominion, 4.5 hours to Virginia Beach, and 1.5 hours to Luray Caverns - tons to do and see around here.  Thanks!

Notes

We have 3 cats that might need care if we cannot bring them with us. We can hire a pet sitter to care for them but the cats would still be around.

Neighbourhood

Playground for kiddos, movie theater, grocery store,,town center plaza with shops and restaurants. Very safe, quiet, and family oriented. We also have a HOA center with a small workout room area and 2 large pools plus one kid pool with fountains and buckets and even a kiddie pool for babies.

Getting to my home

Def flying. IAD is the closest but DCA and BWI are workable too. There are trains as well, but they usually only get you to DC and then you will need to take the metro or car to ashburn. If you take the metro, you will still need a car to get to my house from the metro. Car / uber / Lyft are the best ways to travel in this area.

Getting Around

You will def need a car or uber / Lyft to get around. We have a Honda CRV, that seats 5, that can be included in the swap.
