Hospitality Description: Andy and I would love to share our home and local area for up to 4 people for stays of 1-3 nights. We have a double bedroom, pull out double bed in the dressing room and separate bathroom with shower/bath free for such hospitality stays. If our free times match, we’d love to share breakfast and/or an evening meal together at the house or at one of the lovely local country pubs. We can offer advice on a wide array of places to see and things to do in our locality to help you make best use of your stay. We can try to join you for some or of course, leave you to explore the area yourselves ☺️. We love to hike in the nearby Peak Park, cycle on nearby quiet country lanes, swim in our local public pool and nearby open water swim spots to relaxing our bodies and minds doing yoga. Come and join us when in the area 🙏🏻.

Neighbourhood

Our house is on the edge of lovely Ashbourne, Derbyshire and is known as one of the gateways to the Peak District National Park. Fantastic walking trails of varying ability levels, sense of getting away from it all and fabulous viewpoints. Nearby is Alton Towers for thrill seekers, open water swimming spots and a wide array of English country pub restaurants to choose from. The local town has regular rugby, football and cricket games on. The local leisure centre has a 25m pool, fully equipped gym and sports hall for squash, badminton….. The Tissington Trail is a great safe cycling route that goes out to the Peak Park. Ashbourne Golf course is a 10minute drive from the house and is a stunningly scenic course. Ashbourne town has delightful independent shops and holds markets on different days of the week serving up delicious food, drinks and gifts to plants and flowers. The royal shrovetide football game is a sight to behold each Shrove Tuesday and Wednesday where the entire town gets involved. There are lots of lovely National Trust places to visits, Darley Moor Airfield for flying and paragliding.., lovely garden centres and farm shops. Further afield for day trips out are the lovely towns of Bakewell, Buxton and to the beautiful Chatsworth Estate to Castleton and The Hope Valley at the other end of the Peak Park. There are regularly active events hosted from 1/2 marathons to triathlons to scenic walking challenges like The Leaden Boot challenge at Altonsfield. Ashbourne also hosts an annual Arts Festival in June with lots of performance arts, music and cultural events held as part of it. Lots of local fishing spots along the local river Dove or places in beautiful countryside like Longford Fishery.
