I live in a lovely apartment with sea views in the vibrant town of St Leonards on Sea. A big bright living area with a smart TV and WIFI and views over the park to the sea also has a galley style kitchen with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas hob, oven and plenty of storage.
There is crockery and cutlery for several people as well as cooking equipment. The main bedroom is large and overlooks well kept gardens. The second bedroom is a single bed. The bathroom is renovated with a bath and shower. There is a washing machine next to the bathroom. This is my permanent home and thus has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Guest Access
The downside of the view is that the flat is on the fourth floor! There is no lift but it saves on gym membership!

Neighbourhood
The town is a great destination for visitors seeking a blend of history, culture, and seaside relaxation. The town's galleries, independent shops, and nearby coastal attractions make it an ideal spot on the south coast, within reach of many beautiful small villages but also only an hour from Brighton and 90 minutes from London by train.
The original town was created by famous architect James Burton in the early 19th century and was intended as a holiday resort for the bourgeois; attracting both aristocracy and royalty to its grandeur.
St Leonards has some of the most magnificent architecture in all of East Sussex; including the popular Royal Victoria Hotel and the Clock House, as well as many of the seafront houses located along what is now known as The Marina.
St Leonards also has a double-decker promenade which stretches from nearby Hastings to the Warrior Square area of the town. Dubbed “bottle alley” during its construction in the 1930’s, the walls are flecked with broken glass decoration that form pretty mosaics. This type of promenade is not only unique to East Sussex, but is also the only one of its kind in Britain.
There are also several formal parks in St. Leonards, including the recently renovated St Leonards Gardens (Heritage Fund sponsored), as well as Gensing Gardens, Marwick Square Gardens and Warrior Square Gardens located along the seafront.
As well as the architecture St Leonards is known for its independent shops and galleries and several good quality restaurants. There is always plenty going on in St Leonards and Hastings with several music venues, a cinema and theatre, lots of markets and festivals and a lovely community feel.
Getting to my home
There are trains direct from Gatwick airport - also a train from London and Brighton. Hastings/St Leonards is very convenient for most destinations in the south of the UK and close to the Chunnel in Dover if you want to venture further.
Nearest airport
Gatwick is 60 miles - about 1.5 hours by train depending on the time of day.
Getting Around
The town has all the main supermarkets and most deliver - several independent shops, cafes, restaurants just a few minutes walk from the apartment

Hi I am a semi retired single woman who is keen to travel. I lived in Sydney for many years and my daughter still lives there so I try to see her as often as possible .
I have done house exchanges before with great success and love the concept. I hope to travel alone or with a friend.
I have a two bedroom flat in the lovely quirky town of St Leonard on Sea in the south of England. 90 minutes from London and 1 hour from Brighton, it is a great place to discover the country as well as having access to larger cities.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
