This comfortable 3Br/1Ba house is perfect for North coast family fun, and perfect for a fisherman’s get-away. It is fully furnished and ready for your visit. Conveniently located on the North side of Eureka, minutes from Old Town Eureka, or Arcata.
Local Activities Include: Crabbing on Humboldt Bay, Sequoia Park & Zoo, Old Town Charm, Humboldt Bay Cruises, Local Music Venues (nearly every night), HSU sporting activities (Arcata is just 8 miles north), Whale watching in Trinidad (just 23 miles north), Beautiful town of Ferndale (20 miles southwest), Beaches, Redwood Forest hikes for all abilities, Summer time Crabs Baseball, and so much more.
The Space
The living room has a 60” Smart TV set/ with WIFI & Direct TV, and a new sectional couch with 3 push-button recliners built in.
The 3 bedrooms all have comfortable Queen-sized beds and a smart 4K TV in each room.
One bedroom is adjoining the other bedroom by a door (you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the second bedroom.) Perfect for a family with children.
The bathroom has a shower/tub with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and soap.
It has a newly renovated kitchen with all the amenities, including a new refrigerator and beautiful redwood dining room table that easily seats 8.
The driveway can fit 2 cars easily and street parking is plentiful and free. The yard is outlined with a colorful array of flowers and shrubs. The front of the house has a nice porch for morning coffee, and night-time security lighting as you walk-up. While it's perfect for family fun, there are no cabinet locks in the kitchen or elsewhere. There are a various outlet covers around the house.
The washer and dryer are both available to use, complimentary detergent is available for your use.
Guest Access
There are steps to the front and side entrances of the house. Our front, back, and side yard are all fully-fenced in.
The whole house is available except the garage and shed.
Notes
As of 11/20/2019, we have now installed (outdoor only) security cameras for the safety of our home. This footage is only looked at during periods of the home not being occupied by a guests. Due to people in the area filling our garbage cans when guests are not present, and to prevent anyone tampering with our home while it's empty, the cameras are a deterrent of this behavior.
This is a strict non-smoking home. We require additional cleaning for the interior of the home for people who don't disclose smoking to us.

The nearest airport to Eureka, California is Eureka/Arcata Airport (ACV), located in McKinleyville, about 15 miles north of Eureka. It's a regional airport served by United Airlines and Avelo. If you're looking for a larger airport with more flight options, the closest major airport is San Francisco International Airport (SFO), about a 5.5-hour drive from Eureka.
Getting Around
This home is conveniently located minutes from grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries, the town center and waterfront.
Also close by is the zoo, a phenomenal skywalk among the giant sequoias and the university.

Lala and her family stayed on a Globe, and they were just wonderful guests. Great communication prior to arrival, during the stay, and upon leaving. I have never seen our home so clean after guests depart. I would not hesitate to host them again, and perhaps in the future, we can do a simultaneous exchange.
We had a wonderful time at the Johnson's beautiful Lake Tahoe home. The cabin is lovely, spacious, and comfortable with every thing you could possibly need for your stay. We used a Pluto and Lala was so generous to offer us additional nights as the cabin was not being used prior to our visit. And, they thoughtfully left us two bottles of delicious wine to enjoy. We can't wait to return!
We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful and spacious home. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out comfortably, and the ample parking made things easy for our group.
The location was very convenient—just a quick and easy drive to both Heavenly and Kirkwood, which made getting out on the slopes simple and stress-free.
Lala was a wonderful host. Communication was smooth throughout our stay, and she provided plenty of helpful information about the area, which we really appreciated.
The home was also incredibly well stocked. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed, and the outdoor toys were a big hit with the kids.
We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!
Lala's home was so perfect. There is absolutely everything you need in the home. The location is great - close to everything but you feel tucked away in the woods. The beds were super comfortable (loved having the primary suite upstairs separate from the other bedrooms). The house is so spacious with plenty of space to spread out. We had the absolute best week here for Thanksgiving. We would definitely love to return!
We loved our stay at Lala and Karl's home! It is well set-up and suited with family's in mind. There's 4 bedrooms and 1 has a bunk and queen, so it can sleep quite a few people. Two separate living rooms which is nice to separate kids and adults for movies, etc. They have a little obstacle court setup that my kids enjoyed. Everything is well organized, clean and really setup well to welcome guests. Lala and Karl were both great at communication and responsive to anything I asked. They were kind enough to agree to a car swap, which really helped. They gave us lots of good advice for the area. They are in a great spot for South Tahoe. I liked that they were a little out of the city area, as it felt more private. Only a 10 minute drive to nearly everything. Tahoe itself was spectacular. We snowmobiled, cross country skied, snowshoed, ice skated... Really made the most of our time. It's a beautiful area, home and people. Would definitely recommend as exchange partners. We look forward to welcoming their family in Kauai!
We enjoyed our first trip to Tahoe and our stay at Lala’s cabin! As our visit was in August, we enjoyed spending time on the beautiful deck. The kitchen had everything we needed for all the home cooked meals our family enjoyed. The cabin was super clean, comfy, quiet and very spacious for our family of 4. A highlight of the area was hiking in Emerald Bay, one of the most beautiful places we’ve seen (and we live in Hawaii!). We look forward to perhaps visiting again as our son lives in Sacramento. We also look forward to hosting Lala and family sometime this next year!

Matt was a great communicator, he alerted us almost immediately that we had a water leak under the kitchen sink. And sent pictures of the water leak and how the bathroom shower head had become loose from the tile . These items needed immediate attention and has home owners we appreciate it.
Overall he was a great guest to have at our home in South Lake Tahoe.

Karolyn and her daughters were the perfect guests. They followed the check out instructions and left the home extremely clean. Plus they used our vehicle and it washed and left it with a full tank of gas. They are welcome back anytime.

What a beautiful home and location. Only 10 minutes from the Santa Cruz board walk and beaches. She greeted our family with fresh homemade chocolate chips and a bottle of wine. Her home was well stocked with extra blankets and towels. Plenty of beach toys if needed. We highly recommend her beautiful home.

We were able to stay here using our globe. The house is absolutely beautiful and has a premier location right in front of the ocean. The home is spacious and has many viewing areas if gazing at the ocean is your thing. My adult children loved how warm the fireplace kept them in the evenings. We appreciated the guides our hosts prepared in advance of our arrival and even visited the redwood park and a winery they highly recommended. We would love to stay here again!
