We live surrounded by green, earth colors, blues, birds and fish. Our home is ample, full of light and is part of a small town loacted 20 minutes from the colonial city of Merida, 30 minutes from the coast, and an hour drive- in any direction from natural reserves and archeological wonders. We chose to purchase and restore this home as part of our life plan after years chasing the American dream. This is our dream, and we love it.
The Space
The house is unique in that it is a three-story house in a land of mostly 1 floor houses. There are four bedrooms, though the one on the top floor is used as an office, same as the independent studio on the back and both rooms can be fitted with a bed to accomodate additional guests. The house has three gardens, two tropical fish ponds, and two swimming pools (one resembles a cenote and has a cascade, the other is built for excercise). The house has cleaning staff and a cook and guide can be arranged if need be.

Neighbourhood
Cholul is a small town in the North East of Merida, though rapidly developing, it has a quaint little plaza, a local market where we get our fresh produce, a fishmonger, meat market, and a couple of local coffee shops. You will eat the best fresh food here- fruits, vegtables, fish and meat dishes, pork, chicken and beef are available - but local dishes. favor mostly pork. The local couisine is considered one of Mexico's culinary treasures.
Getting to my home
Easy to access by Uber, Car, or public transport. Merida has in fact the most advanced electric public transport in the American continent- nd its efficient and inexpensive. Car rentals are easily available.
Nearest airport
We are 30-40 minutes away from Merida International Airport, and 45 minutes away from the Teya, Meerida Station for the sparking-new Tren Maya. You can flight directly to Mérida from most international destinations via multiple points- or fy into Cancűn or Tulúm also and then take a train.
Getting Around
Uber and other services are plentiful, though you may consider renting a vehicle to explore at your leisure. Bonus travel tip: Merida and the state of Yucatán are ranked amogst the safest cities in the American continent, but I would advice against driving outside the city at night as you are unfamiliar with the roads and there are too many drovers on mopeds and light older vehicles around.
