Our stay at Michelle and James’ house was truly fantastic. Their home is spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The children absolutely loved unwinding in the spa at the end of each day, while I cherished the peaceful evenings spent gazing at the stars. Michelle is a remarkably generous and thoughtful host. She welcomed us with delicious local treats, prepared a lovely dinner for us, and even lent one of her surfboards to the children so they could enjoy practicing their surfing skills at the beautiful beach just a few steps from the house. These thoughtful gestures made our stay feel truly special. The area itself is nothing short of magical. Endless stretches of pristine beaches, breathtaking whale-watching spots, and stunning waterfalls create a little piece of paradise. It is the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. What I will remember most, however, is Michelle herself. Beyond her incredible hospitality, I genuinely enjoyed our conversations and the opportunity to get to know her. Had we stayed longer, I am convinced we would have become great friends. I sincerely hope our paths will cross again one day. Until then, I will treasure the memories of this beautiful place and the kindness that made it feel like home. Thank you, Michelle and James, for an unforgettable stay. We left with wonderful memories and full hearts.

We had a fantastic week at Michelle and James’ beautiful home at Skennars Head. There was plenty of room for us, our grown up children and their partners. Highlights of our visit to the area were having a go at surfing, walking over the headland to Lennox Head, cycling along the shared path to Ballina, visiting Byron Bay, a day trip to Mullumbimby including the Crystal Castle, local breweries and a tour of Brookie’s gin distillery. I would highly recommend this area, and Michelle and James as hosts.

Michelle and James’ house was absolutely divine! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were stepping into a five-star luxury hotel—but with all the warmth and comfort of a family home. The house had everything you could possibly need. It was spacious, with large, comfortable bedrooms and plenty of cozy spots to sit back, relax, and enjoy the gentle ocean breezes. The spa was truly the highlight of our stay! Even though it rained solidly for three days, the boys spent hours in there, completely entertained and happy. Michelle’s home is perfectly positioned—just a short drive to Lennox Head or the world-famous Byron Bay. It’s also conveniently close to Ballina, only a few minutes away. Traveling with children? Just meters from the house, there’s a well-equipped playground and a large grassy area where kids can burn off energy safely and happily. Not sure Michelle and James can improve the house anymore... it was perfect in every way!
