Neighbourhood

We’re located in a lovely, family friendly neighbourhood, a mere twenty minute drive to downtown Halifax— so close to the bustle of the city with the feeling of cottage country all around. Our neighbours on either side are exactly that— seasonal cottage folk so our home offers privacy and seclusion. The lake is motorized so there’s much to see during the Summer months with waterski competitions and boat parades— a real sense of active community. The local rec centre (a five minute walk) even hosts weekly wing nights during the warmer months. The lake does freeze in the winter and you can take in many a pickup hockey game or bring skates of your own. There are nearby hiking trails if that’s of interest, too. If you’re interested in venturing outside of our little community there is so much to SEA! 🌊 Many beautiful salt water beaches (40 mins), Peggy’s Cove (40 minutes), Downtown Halifax (20 minutes) that’s host to many restaurants, Citadel Hill, festivals, museums, tours and a vibrant cultural experience.

Twenty minutes from the Stanfield International Airport.

Getting Around

Grocery stores and all other shops are about a ten minute drive. While there is a transit system that runs fairly regularly from the main road we do recommend a car to make your stay more enjoyable.

We’re a fun loving, homeschooling family of six that are excited to show our little ones the beauty this world has to offer.
