Our home in Dakar is a true oasis from the hustle and bustle in Dakar! We have a four bedroom villa located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, with a large garden and backyard including a trampoline and swing set. Our house is fun for kids with a reading corner and play room. There are bunk beds with a slide in the kids room! It has a newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms are a stand out. We have a 24 hour guard and our amazing cleaning lady who can support you during your stay.
The Space
The house is quite spacious, with a front terrace and also a large garden in the back yard. This is a rare find in Dakar and the green space and beautiful flowers and mango trees are a treat! There is a living room, large dining room table and a kitchen nook with table. One bedroom/office is located downstairs (ensuite) with a double bed, as well as another guest bathroom. Upstairs there is a large master bedroom with adjacent bathroom (large shower). Another office and a children's room with bunk beds (our kids share a room).
Guest Access
Two floors, with stairs. Dakar is unfortunately not a very accessible city, however we have had family visit who are in their 70's and have not had any problems.
Notes
Please note that traveling and living in Senegal is very different to other European or North American countries! It's a wonderful place to visit and Senegalese are very welcoming and friendly. Please note that not everything is easy to access and we ask that you tread lightly on the house (avoid long showers, do not pour coffee grinds down the sink, be mindful of your electricity use, etc).

Neighbourhood
The neighbourhood is very safe and has some of the only paved neighbourhood roads in the city. The former President lived on the same street where we reside and generally we are very lucky to have very few electricity and water issues. If you have children they are welcome to borrow our children's bikes and scooters.
Getting to my home
You can get a taxi service from the airport, if you would like I can share the number of a reliable and safe transporter.
Nearest airport
It is about 2 hours from the airport to our house depending on traffic.
Getting Around
There are a couple of transport options available including Yango which operates like Uber. You need to pay cash or e-transfer (orange money or wave) on arrival. You can walk to the nearest (and largest) grocery store which is about 10 minutes away. There is also a cinema beside the grocery store and a sports store (decathalon).
