General overview
Beach house on the Kapiti Coast - less than an hour north of Wellington city. While our house lacks sea views, it has direct beach access. It is also quiet, private and sunny.
The space
There is one large bedroom with king bed, and a spacious open-plan lounge/dining/kitchen area. The kitchen is new!
We have also recently replaced all the windows with double-glazing which means the house is both warm in winter and cool in summer. There is an attached garage which also contains the laundry.
The section is well-fenced and we have a private patio with a spa pool. The outdoor garden is great for BBQs in summer.
Guest access
Single level. No stairs. Good access.
Notes
We run an Airbnb guest house on the property in a separate cottage. This is managed by my excellent co-host when we are away.

Neighbourhood
The local neighborhood is well serviced by shops, cinemas, restaurants, cafes and a great local markets on Saturday mornings.
It is a safe and welcoming community.
Kapiti Island nature sanctuary is a popular destination for visitors. The Kapiti Coast is known for its nature walks and attractions.
Getting around
Paraparaumu Beach only an hour by car to Wellington City CBD. You can also bus and then train into Wellington from our home. Many people commute to the city for work. While others have retired here to enjoy the pleasant climate.
Our home is 2 kilometres from the local shops, so a 5 minute drive, 10 minute bike ride or 20 minute walk. You can even walk along the beach to the shops.
There is garaging for a car. It is possible we could make a car available.

We have four adult children, two live in Wellington,
one in Adelaide and another in Melbourne, Australia.
We enjoy touring New Zealand in our truck camper, fly fishing and exploring new places.
