General Overview

About Us: We are a semi-retired couple who have embraced our senior years while keeping an active lifestyle. Our family continue to live near us so our home becomes the gathering place for celebrations throughout the year. I currently drive a school bus in my post-retirement while my wife has completed many years of education as a teacher and special education tutor. Raising our two kids in this home has given us decades of memories and continues to do so. About Portland/Tigard: A list of possible sightseeing places, special events and outdoor activities is so numerous I find it hard to describe, but I'll try. Portland is one of the sought-after destination cities of America. It's nestled at the confluence of the Columbia River and the Willamette River, making it a city of bridges. Maybe you want to spend time on the water. Well, Portland is at the confluence of the Columbia River and the Willamette River, both enjoyed by thousands for water sports, fishing, sailing, and sightseeing. If you have an itch to see hills, mountains and valleys they are but a short drive away. Oregon's tallest mountain, Mt. Hood is an hour and a half away by car and don't forget to visit historic Timberline Lodge while there. The Columbia Gorge shows off the mighty Columbia River as it cuts through the Cascade Mountain range and again, within easy driving distance is Multnomah Falls, a breath-taking sight worth visiting. Wine country, did someone say wine country. The Space

About The Home: Our home for over 35 years has three bedrooms and two baths. The living room is furnished with genuine leather seating, a large-screen smart tv/monitor and wood-burning fireplace (although you won't need it). The temperature controlled home include full-house air-conditioning, keeping the house cool on the warmer days. There is a backyard deck including a gas grill and seating for six at the matching table. Prior to your arrival all main living area carpets will be professionally cleaned. During your stay weekly yard service will be provided, to maintain the beauty of the landscaping. When you enter our home you'll sense the peace and tranquility of a well-kept home. Prior to a reciprocal exchange our house will be professionally cleaned and we will have the carpets in the main living areas and hallways cleaned and extracted.

Guest Access

Our home is what we call Split-Level. The main living area is 5 steps up from our driveway. Another nine steps up leads to the three bedrooms and two full baths. The rear deck for entertaining and relaxation is on the same level as the main living area.

Neighbourhood

Our home is nestled in a quiet residential area which you will find both peaceful and tranquil during your stay. The mature landscaping, including the many native trees make our neighborhood a special place. The modern street system with walkways almost everywhere is a place where many of our neighbors walk and talk for relaxation and exercise during the day. You'll want to join them during your stay.

Getting to my home

For international travelers, arrival by plane at Portland International Airport is recommended. Many airlines have direct flights from Europe. Ground travel is abundantly available; car rentals, cabs, Uber, Lyft and mass transit are prevalent.

Nearest airport

PDX-Portland International Airport is one of America's highest rated airports, known for its beautiful design, and efficient movement of people and abundance of airlines.

Getting Around

A modern shopping mall, Portland's finest, is minutes away, but not too close to disturb our peace and quiet. And for the everyday needs a modern general merchandise and food store is again, minutes away. You can walk to it if you want. It even has a pharmacy for any prescription and medical supply needs.
