General Overview

Our home is a warm and spacious place with high ceilings, big windows, and lovely original brick features that give it real character. It’s comfortable, full of natural light, and has a calm, relaxed feel throughout.

There’s a tidy garden out back with a large decked area—great for sitting out with a coffee or sharing a meal. We’ve planted fresh herbs which you’re welcome to use during your stay.

We’re lucky to be in a beautiful spot, right next to a canal with colourful boats passing by, and seconds away from a river (which you can hear flowing from the balcony).  We're only minutes away from many woodland walks including Hard Castle Craggs, a stunning national trust forest.

There’s space to park two cars, but we’re also just 3 minutes’ walk from the train station, which makes it really easy to get to Manchester (30 mins) or Leeds (50 mins) without needing to drive.  

The town itself is a lively and friendly market town, known for its creative community. You’ll find independent shops, good restaurants, and great coffee spots—places that feel a bit different from the usual. It’s a town full of artists, writers, potters, and other makers, which gives it a really unique feel.

It’s a comfortable base to relax, explore the outdoors, and experience a little of what makes this part of the world special.
