General Overview
Our home is in the most beautiful neighborhood in all of Berkeley, called Thousand Oaks. People say it reminds them of the Mediterranean. There are massive rocks and huge oak trees. Berkeley is a world class city, across the bay from San Francisco. We have mild weather and stunning sunsets year round. Our cute bungalow is on a gorgeous large lot in a sweet neighborhood in North Berkeley named after the thousands of oak trees that line the streets and surround the houses. We are blessed with 5 oak trees and 5 redwood trees on our lot annd a massive rock out front. Easy access to parks, restaurants, cafes, and UC Berkeley. It’s a 1/2 mile walk (or 3-minute drive) to great restaurants, cafes, parks, grocery stores. It’s a 16 minute drive to get to the ferry to get to San Francisco or just drive there in 25 minutes depending on traffic. We have passes to the SF MOMA and have Dim Sum recommendations to make for a delightful day. We have a kid friendly house with a huge 12' trampoline and bbq in the backyard.
The Space
Our 1200 sq ft house sits on a double lot and includes a living room, kitchen with breakfast nook, bathroom, laundry, and 3 bedrooms. (We converted the formal dining room which was going unused into a 3rd bedroom). 1 queen, 3 single beds. New bathroom. New kitchen and exterior paint coming in 2025.
Guest Access
The actual house is one story however there are many stairs, around 25 steps to get from the street to the front door. Not easy if you have an issues walking.
Notes
We have the best sunsets!

Neighbourhood
Our cute bungalow is on a gorgeous large lot in a sweet neighborhood in North Berkeley called Thousand Oaks named after the thousands of oak trees that line the streets. We are blessed with 5 oak trees and 5 redwood trees on our lot. Easy access to parks, restaurants, cafes, and UC Berkeley. We are 0.5 mi/ 0.7km walk to our favorite restaurants and cafes on the nearby commercial strip. "Solano avenue" also has banks and grocery stores. Note: we are up the hill on the way home :)
Getting to my home
Fly into either OAK or SFO airports, BART to North Berkeley station, and then its an $8 uber ride to our house.
Nearest airport
The Oakland Airport is 30-minutes away by car, a bit longer if you take BART train, but easy.
Getting Around
We are 3-4 blocks from a bus stop that can take you directly to UC Berkeley and downtown Berkeley and to the BART train. Easy street parking. The commercial strip is 0.5 mile or 0.7km away so easy to walk there. We are 3-4 blocks up a hill so walking and biking is doable, we do it daily, but note there’s a hill for approx 2 blocks. We have a car as well. A car makes it easy to explore Napa and Sonoma wine country. Lots of options!
