General Overview

What we love most is the peaceful, cozy feel of the space and that we are so close to the mountains. It’s quiet, relaxing, and has a welcoming warmth that instantly puts you at ease. The gas fireplace is perfect for curling up in the evenings, and the backyard, with its open green space, is our favorite place to sit and unwind.

The Space

Our warm and welcoming Calgary home has a cozy country-western feel and plenty of space to relax.

The open-concept main floor features a kitchen, dining and living area with a gas fireplace, plus a half bath and laundry room. The decorative rifle above the fireplace is non-functioning and simply part of the Western décor.

Upstairs are three comfortable bedrooms with queen beds, two full bathrooms, and a bonus area with a desk and books for reading or remote work. A developed basement with an extra bed is also available if extra space is needed.

We’re also just 40 minutes from beautiful Kananaskis Country and Forget Me Not Pond, perfect for an easy mountain day trip.

Guest Access

Keyless entry is provided by a front-door PIN pad. Guests have access to the main, second and basement levels. The basement includes a toy room, living area and bathroom (no TV).

Notes

We love our location because we’re close to both the city and the mountains. Banff and Canmore are about 1–1.5 hours away, and beautiful Kananaskis Country is only about 40 minutes away, perfect for hiking, sightseeing and day trips.

Our private community lake is just a 5-minute walk from our home, with swimming and beach volleyball in summer and skating and tobogganing in winter. We can arrange lake access for our guests.

Closer to home, Heritage Park is only 10 minutes away, with the Calgary Zoo, TELUS Spark, Callaway Park, farmers’ markets, shopping and restaurants all within an easy drive.

If you visit in early July, you can experience the famous Calgary Stampede,10 days of rodeos, concerts, midway rides and events throughout the city.

For another great day trip, Drumheller and the world-famous Royal Tyrrell Museum are about 1.5–2 hours away.

We’re happy to share our favorite places to visit, hikes and day trips, and can also help with information about the park passes required for Kananaskis and Canada’s national parks.

Neighbourhood

We’re in Calgary’s southeast, close to shopping, restaurants, transit and the route to the mountains. Banff is about 1.5 hours away, and the C-Train is just a 5-minute drive.

Our beautiful private community lake is a 5-minute walk away.

We also have wonderful, friendly neighbors who may stop to say hello if you’re out in the yard!

Getting to my home

Our home is about 30 minutes from Calgary International Airport. Public transit and ride-shares are available, but we recommend renting a vehicle if you plan to explore Calgary and the mountains.

Nearest airport

YYC is 30 minute drive.  It’s an easy route, mostly on major roads.

Getting Around

We recommend renting a vehicle if you plan to explore Calgary and the mountains. Public transit is also nearby, with buses connecting to the C-Train, and Uber is readily available throughout the city.

And if we’re around during your visit, we may even be able to pick you up at the airport!
