The Space

It is a fairly small 1-bedroom, but the space is uncluttered and tranquil--even Zen--and it is filled with natural light. There is a full kitchen equipped with professional-grade cookware, full bath that is pleasant for both showers and baths, queen-size bed on a platform of authentic Japanese tatami, flat-screen TV in the living room, and a work desk with an ergonomic office chair.

Neighbourhood

Located in the vibrant Santa Monica / Venice Beach area of Los Angeles, the apartment is within a 5-minute walk from the beach, restaurants and shops on Main Street, and the famous Venice Boardwalk. The ultra-cool boutiques on Abbot Kinney Blvd are 2 mins by car or 10 mins by foot. You can walk along the beach all the way to the grand Santa Monica Pier (20-30 mins with the waves at your feet) or ride the beach cruiser bicycle along the boardwalk (6-8 mins).

Getting Around

Everything from groceries to restaurants to shops to surfing is within walking distance, but there is also a beach cruiser bicycle that guests are welcome to use--especially nice for sunset rides on the Boardwalk! If you need a 2nd or 3rd bicycle there are numerous available to use with an app on almost every corner. Same for scooters. For longer journeys, Uber and Lyft usually arrive to pick you up in less than 5 minutes.
