Neighbourhood

There are cafes and restaurants in town as well as dress shops, pharmacies and a large Woolworths supermarket. Boardwalks are great for a stroll. The best beach for children is Shelley Beach. Main Beach is ideal for surfing, and has a great surf club cafe overlooking the beach and headlands. The V Wall is great for strolling as well as yet another swimming area. The Lookout gives a wonderful view to the coast north and south. Nearby places: the Mid-North Coast of NSW is one of the most beautiful and varied parts of Australia, with great town centres, a stunning hinterland and accessible national parks. Places nearby to visit: Bowraville – 20 minutes drive: it has original street awnings and a fantastic old cinema. There is a very quaint folk museum which is well worth a visit. Bellingen – 30 minutes drive: Known by the locals as Bello, Bellingen has an alternative vibe and lots of good cafes (and good coffee). Shopping is fun, and you must visit the Hammond & Wheatley department store with a craft market upstairs; even if you can’t afford the clothes, you can enjoy the 19th century architecture! Bellingen Community Market is held on the third Saturday of every month. One of Australia’s most diverse regional markets, it has a fantastic range of handmade arts and crafts, local food, fresh produce and alternative therapies. It’s fun. Coffs Harbour – 35-40 minutes drive:
 Coffs Harbour is a large thriving coastal city, fantastic shopping, good restaurants and lots to see. Go to http://www.coffscoast.com.au/destination-coffs for up-to-date information. Dorrigo – 60 minutes drive: While a visit here requires a commitment to travelling (1 hour each way), Dorrigo National Park is beautiful, and well worth the time, if you have the time. Dangar Falls is stunning. You can swim in the waterfall (but Dorrigo is approx. 1000 metres up, so too cold to swim in winter/spring. Check out the website: http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/Dorrigo-National-Park South West Rocks: 45 minutes south: it has good beaches and an old historic convict jail. Taylor’s Arm – 45 minutes drive:
 Reputed to be the original ‘Pub With No Beer’, Taylor’s Arm doesn’t have a lot going for it, but the scenic countryside makes it a pleasant drive from Nambucca and you can have lunch there while drinking a nice cold beer. WE HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS LOVELY REGION

Nearest airport

The nearest airport is Coffs Harbour, a 35-40 minute drive away, so it would be necessary to either be picked up at the airport or to rent a car.

Getting Around

Though only an 8 minute drive to the shops, it is through a bush road, so a car is the best option. (If we're overseas, we're happy to make a car available).
