General Overview

Spacious house with large rooms, nicely decorated with art and stylish furniture. It is located in a green area East of Antwerp, known for high quality of living. The house is surrounded by a spacious garden with beautiful massive old oaks and several terraces for the moments of the day. There is a natural swimming pond with a few golden orfes for those who love a refreshing dip.

The Space

On the ground floor, the living room with fireplace, dining room and kitchen are connected by a passage to the home office. There is also a WC and a veranda which is sometimes used as art room and then not available for exchangers. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms: one double bed room and a single bedroom. They share a bathroom with bath, shower and 1 sink. Separate toilet on the first floor. The first floor also has a south-facing sun terrace and 2 rooms which will not be accessible. All rooms in the house have large windows with a beautiful view of the surrounding garden. There is a south-facing terrace and a west-facing terrace with heaters, each with its own table for up to 6 people. Gas BBQ next to the kitchen.

Guest Access

The bedrooms and bathroom are on the first floor. On the ground floor, the laundry room and veranda are 2 steps lower. Living room, kitchen, dining room and office are on the same level. There are multiple parking spaces on site.

Notes

There is wifi in all rooms and on the terraces. Ther is no fence around the pond and no safety cover. We would not recommend any child who cannot swim to stay in our home. As you may have seen on our house photos, it has some delicate materials and furniture that would require responsible use, as we do also when going somewhere else. We are non-smokers and like to keep the house smoke free as well. We trust your company will be responsible in adapting. From Jan-Sep, we will be requesting some daily easy pond filter maintenance. We have a solution for regular lawn maintenance in the period Mar-Oct. You van opt in for cleaning services on Wednesdays 8:00-12:00, which would require our guests to be home at start and at end. If desired, we can reduce hours within the above time frame. For short stays, we normally cancel it.

Neighbourhood

We are close to the beautiful private castles of 's Gravenwezel, Hof ter Linden and Hof ter Pull. Our house is located in a very green residential area in a quiet street with only local traffic. You can jog or cycle along the beautiful castle route or along the anti-tank canal. Several golf courses, cycling and walking routes nearby. Large shopping mall Wijnegem Shopping Center with 250 shops and restaurants under 1 roof, is 14 min. Smoothly to Antwerp by bus, tram, car or bike.

Getting to my home

A car is recommended to discover the wider area or to make a city trip. Bicycles are available to move locally. There are many hiking opportunities.

Nearest airport

45 minutes by car from Brussels/Zaventem airport 90 min by car from Brussels South/Charleroi airport - Low cost Ryanair airport we stopped using because of the distance and the level of service. 1:40 min to Amsterdam airport 50 min from Eindhoven airport 25 min from the airport Antwerp/Deurne (few destinations to South Europe)

Getting Around

All types of shops, restaurants, caterers, bakery, butcher, cheese shop, florists, chocolate shop and supermarkets are located in a circle of 2 km from the house.
