General Overview
We bought our “5-year house” in 1994. Turns out it was the perfect neighborhood to raise our boys, and we never left! Over 30+ years we updated the kitchen, all the bathrooms and the lower level. In a more recent remodel we added a family room, primary bedroom, outdoor living space, hot tub, and two-car garage. Downtown Seattle is a stones-throw away, but you won’t feel like you’re in the city in our charming family-friendly neighborhood.
The Seattle waterfront, sports stadiums, and University of Washington are all within a few miles. Seattle is the gateway to Puget Sound and the Cascade and Olympic Mountains, offering abundant world-class outdoor adventure - skiing, backpacking, hiking, biking, boating, and fishing.

The Space
Our early-1900s house still maintains much of its old-world charm but has been updated with many modern amenities. The house has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, lots of natural light and many warm and inviting spaces.
The main floor has an open floor plan with a formal living room (wood-burning fireplace), a formal dining room (table for 10), a fully stocked Chef’s kitchen, a large adjoining family room (gas fireplace), half bath and an office space. Double French doors open from the family room onto a large entertainment-size deck with BBQ and cascading lower deck with a hot tub.
The upper level has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The primary bedroom features views of the sunrise over the Cascade Mountains, a walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom with shower, soaking tub and heated floors. The two additional bedrooms are generously sized with queen beds.
The lower level has a flexible sleeping space/media room, small workout area, full bath and laundry.
Our home is a "smart home" with Alexa devices and WIFI throughout. There are two smart TVs with cable and streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, etc.
Our home is within walking distance of restaurants, bars and shops. Lake Union is a few blocks away offering kayaking, paddle boarding, and beautiful sunsets. Enjoy biking, walking or jogging the easily accessible Burke Gilman Trial and Washington Park Arboretum. Public transportation includes bus service a few blocks away and light rail stations within a mile.
Guest Access
3 levels inside and 2 levels of decks ( with lots of steps), so not a good option for people with limited mobility. Babies and children under 2 are welcome, but as empty-nesters, we do not have a crib or other baby amenities at this time.
Notes
We have lots of houseplants! They make the house feel much more like home, but they also require regular watering. It’s easy with our instructions, but if you worry about not having a green thumb, we can have someone attend to them.
