General Overview

Our home is nestled in the most beautiful valley in the Watagan Mountains on 21 acres of bush, with native wildlife literally at our doorstep! The home is spacious, with 4 generous bedrooms, large comfortable lounge and spacious kitchen and dining room. The front deck has a 6 person spa to enjoy a soak while star gazing. You can walk straight out the back door and wander through the Olney State Forest without seeing another person! Peaceful, tranquil, blissful!

The Space

The home is a spacious, 4 bedroom home on a single level. It is attached to another dwelling, with a shared laundry area. There are 3 bedrooms all with double or queen beds. The main bedroom has an ensuite and a single bed as well. The 4th bedroom may be used as TV room and lounge, or turned into an extra bedroom with double bed from the futon lounge. The loungeroom is spacious, with a fireplace, lounges, music area and craft table. The kitchen is open to the dining area, which has a table that can seat 8-10 people comfortably. There is another bathroom off the kitchen area.

Guest Access

Entry to the house is up some stairs, otherwise can walk around the lawn and across the front paved area and up 2 small steps.

Notes

This is our primary residence and we live in the whole house. When we are exchanging, we will move into the other part of the home, attached by the shared laundry. We may or may not be here when you visit. If you would like us to play tour guide, we are more than happy to do so! We can help show you the great walks in the forest, point out wildlife and tree names and help get the camp fire going! Otherwise - if we are here, and you would prefer complete privacy, we will stay in our space and you can enjoy your tranquil paradise!

Neighbourhood

We are in a very quiet street, which is in a valley (the most beautiful valley in the world, we think!). Walking the street, or up the mountain from the house is divine - with an abundance of wildlife to be seen, from wallabies, wombats, echidnas, lyrebirds, king parrots and more! The closest beach is around 35 minute drive, and Lake Macquarie is just 20 minutes away. For great restaurants and lake walks, Toronto is perfect - which is about 25 minutes drive. And Gosford on the Central Coast, or Newcastle are both around an hour away.

Getting to my home

The closest train station is Morisset, and there is little public transport. The easiest way to get to the home is by car.

Nearest airport

Closest airport is Newcastle, which is about 50 minutes away. You will need to hire a car to get here from there. Otherwise, if you fly into Sydney, it is a 2 and a half hour train trip to Morisset. If we are here, we can pick you up!

Getting Around

We can provide you with a car while you are here, if you don't have one.

Leonie

Hello! I'm Leonie and my partner of 38 years is Craig. We are empty nesters, with our 3 grown children living and travelling around the world. We have worked for ourselves for most of our lives, creating board games and products for bringing people together and having meaningful connections. We love our home in the mountains, living in nature and sharing our beautiful space with people. Our home is a spacious 4 bedroom home, with an adjoining double storey home where we live. We may or may not be in our part of the house when exchanges are made. You will have total privacy in our home and surrounds when you stay - or we are happy to play host! We will be travelling mostly as a couple, but may include our adult children at times.
