General Overview
Discover Copenhagen – A Cozy, Colorful, and Cultural Capital
Copenhagen is a beautiful and welcoming city full of charm, history, and Scandinavian “hygge.” Whether you love strolling through historic streets, exploring castles, or enjoying good food by the water, there's something for everyone here.
Here are just a few highlights you can look forward to:
The Little Mermaid – A famous and beloved statue by the harbor, inspired by the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Small but iconic!
Nyhavn – A colorful harbor area lined with cafés, restaurants, and old sailing ships. Perfect for a meal, a drink, or a canal tour.
Tivoli Gardens – A magical amusement park in the heart of the city, with rides, live entertainment, and beautiful gardens – great for all ages.
Amalienborg Palace – Home of the Danish royal family. You can see the royal guards march every day at noon.
The Round Tower – An old observatory with a spiral walkway leading to amazing city views – no stairs, just a gentle climb.
Christiansborg Palace – A grand building where Danish politics meets royal history. Parts of it are open to visitors, including the tower.
Freetown Christiania – A unique, alternative neighborhood known for its colorful murals, creative spirit, and relaxed vibe.
Rosenborg Castle – A fairy-tale castle in a lovely park, where you can see the crown jewels of Denmark.
The Copenhagen Opera House – A modern architectural gem right on the waterfront.
Copenhagen is easy to explore by bike, full of friendly people, and packed with cozy cafés, bakeries, and green spaces. It’s a city that combines old-world charm with modern Scandinavian lifestyle – and it’s especially wonderful in the summer!

Neighbourhood
About My Neighborhood – Nørrebro & Skjolds Plads
I live in Nørrebro, one of Copenhagen’s most diverse, vibrant, and creative neighborhoods. It’s known for its mix of cultures, independent shops, delicious food spots, and relaxed, urban atmosphere. You’ll find street art, trendy cafés, bakeries, second-hand and local handcraft stores, and local parks and many playgrounds. All within walking distance.
My apartment is located near Skjolds Plads, a quiet and green area with a metro station just around the corner. That means you can reach the city center in less than 10 minutes, or explore the rest of the city with ease. The neighborhood is peaceful but close to everything – perfect for both relaxing and exploring. There are grocery stores, bakeries, a gym, and several small local eateries just a few minutes' walk away.
Whether you're into sightseeing, food, culture or just enjoying everyday life like a local, my place is a great base for discovering all that Copenhagen has to offer.
Here are some of my favorite spots very near the apartement – great for coffee, a bite to eat, or something sweet:
Oberra – Stylish café and restaurant just around the corner. Creative pescatarian food, great brunch, coffee & wine.

Hi! :)
My name is Solsikke (33) and I live in beautiful Copenhagen, Denmark, with my boyfriend Alexander (33), our two daughters (6 and 9) and our cat Kuma.
I'm a waldorf teacher and foremost I love to spend time with my family! I also love to dance and listen to music, to make different handcrafts and to be in our garden outside of Copenhagen or in the nature.
We have never exchanged homes before but we are used to rent our apartement though Airbnb.
We would love to explore Europe and visit beautiful homes, nature and cities!
