General Overview

We love our home as it is sunny, cosy, quiet near the train, lake and skiing... and we love our village as it has all the amenities a larger town would have yet in a small village near the highway. We also have a very peaceful home geared towards those who have sensory and ASD, so it is calming and restful.

The Space

Across 2 floors, there are 3 bedrooms that can sleep a total of 6 people with a bathroom and small balcony located off the parental bedroom with a mini office. The bathroom has a large tub and stand up shower. There is also a common garden area behind the house with table, chairs and a BBQ under a leafy large fig tree which has lights, making summer time evening apero and grilling very cosy! There is also a washer and dryer located at garden level, along with a wine cave with seating. There are board games, toys for children. Including a telescope (note that guests can use the smaller one, the larger one is stationary and quite advanced so we ask to only use the smaller one). There is also a mezzanine with a well worn couch so the kids can rest and entertain there (meaning if there is a spill on that couch it is no big deal). There is a TV with access to Amazon Prime and assorted apps. There are also fans in each bedroom. The lighting is special Bio Lights where you can change the amount of blue light and intensity (so at night there is no blue light). The house is fitted with MEMON technology to reduce the effects of EMF and electrosmog. All windows have light blocking shades, and the large window above has an electric shade so you can close it when it gets too bright or warm. All Velux windows have extra external shades to keep the home cool and shady in the bright summer light. So if you have children on the spectrum, this house is definitely for you!!

Guest Access

The house apartment is located on the second floor. It requires two sets of stairs to access. There is not an elevator. The house apartment itself has two floors with one set of stairs. No elevator. Garden access has one flight of stairs.

Notes

Washer and dryer: are located in the community wine cave in the building, beside the garden Garden: BBQ available. Large table for 6 people with 6 chairs, including table settings for 6 (located in the wine cave, is the colored dishes and glass drinking glasses and silverware in the drawer). There are fairy lights on the large fig tree-- there are 2 solar pads at the base of the tree and on the back side you can turn the lights on. Extra care not to break the copper wire. Please turn the lights off when finished so that the neighbors are not disturbed with the light when sleeping. Music and loud talking must stop at 22:00 (you can stay in the garden, it is that Swiss law requires quiet from 22:00 to 07:00) Apartment Access: there are 2 flights of stairs to get to our apartment and no elevator In the Apartment: one set of stairs, mezzanine and 2 bedrooms on the second floor Noise: Swiss law states that no noise (ie music, loud voices, etc, both in the home and in the garden) are prohibited from 22:00 to 07:00 No parties!! If you have local friends that you would like to invite (meaning to visit, for example you have friends here or friends passing through that are NOT registered with your party/reservation), please inform in advance. Balcony: located in the master bedroom (first floor) Allergies: there are multiple air purifiers in the home for your comfort and a cleaner comes twice a week to do light cleaning. No pets in the home and no pets are allowed. Velux windows: have an additional external cover to reduce heat (as homes in Switzerland do not have AC) which keeps the home fresh in the summer Summer Cooling: best to open the windows at night when cooler, then close in the morning and keep closed all day to keep the fresh air in Train: one minute walk away, schedule is at sbb.ch Car Park: there is a large car park at the train station. Parking is CHF 7 per night. If you plan to have a car, let me know and I can get the car park pass for you at the commune before you arrive. Bikes: We have 2 adult bikes, 2 child bikes (one for really tiny around 3 YO and another for age 8-12). If you would like to use the bikes, let me know as I would need to ensure they are ready :) Note that we have a LOT of hills here, so children usually bike in the park. You can also take the bikes on the train for an additional fee. Sensory: there are special light bulbs in the home to reduce blue light, light blocking on all windows and EMF reducing MEMON techology Lake: is about 2-2.5 km walk (downhill grade 20%). Alternatively can take the train or drive (parking at Pichette Beach in Corseaux) Smoking: only allowed on the balcony and in the garden, please kindly do not smoke inside our home :) Babysitting: we have a nanny now for 10 years who is extremely trustworthy. Depending on her schedule, she can babysit for CHF 25 an hour. Cleaning: the house is cleaned lightly usually twice a week, depending on the schedule cleaning can be scheduled during your stay. Light cleaning includes vacuum, floor mopping, dusting.

Neighbourhood

Chexbres is in the heart of the Lavaux region with many kilometers of walking trails and vineyards. We have 6 wine makers in the village 2 bakeries, 4 restaurants, 2 grocery stores and a pharmacy. It is a quiet and quaint village, and to note that Swiss law states quiet time in the home and garden (ie no loud noise, machines, music) is from 22:00 to 07:00, and that there is no noise on Sundays.
