General overview

Our modern, lakeside house, Monet Bay, is landscaped in rock-walled gardens and is very close to the water on 375 feet of private shoreline. Because of southern exposure, our living room, dining room, kitchen and sun room are filled with dazzling sunlight as it plays over the lake. You can lie in bed and gaze over shimmering water. Enjoy watching deer, beaver, loons, ducks, herons, otters and turtles. Because the lake is motorboat free, it has superb swimming, kayaking and canoeing. Just around the corner from our lovely dock you can kayak or swim to a stunning waterfall that flows into the lake. Monet Bay is filled with literary works and art created by the world travelling owners.

The space

This home provides all amenities of a large city home. The gourmet kitchen is fully-equipped for great dinner parties. The large master suite is on the main floor. Downstairs is a second living area with sleeping for three, as well as two queen bedrooms and a full bathroom with a large jacuzzi jet tub. Guests have reported being extremely comfortable, as well as overwhelmed by the beautiful decor and art work, and the stunning views of the lake!

Guest access

Our home has been recently renovated for wheelchair accessibility. Access to the large dock is close and easy.

Notes

In the summer months, we include the use of our canoe, pedalo, and two kayaks. Life jackets are available for all sizes. The barbecue is on the back porch, and there is a lovely patio for en-plein-air meals.

Neighbourhood

The secluded lakeside dream of Monet Bay is a short 12-minute drive to the quaint little town of Perkins with its many stores, including a Tim Hortons. We are 20 minutes from skiing and golfing at Edelweiss and Vorlage, and one of the most beautiful golf courses in the area, Golf Le Sorcier. A 20-minute drive along a mountain road will take you to Wakefield. We are only 35 minutes to Ottawa, the Nation’s Capital and the Byward Market, Rideau Canal, National Art Gallery, University of Ottawa and Carleton.

Getting to my home

Our home is a 30-minutes drive from Ottawa on easy highways (last 4 minutes on good private roads).

Nearest airport

1 Hour, "YOW", just south of Ottawa.

Getting around

Major grocery stores are 15-20 minutes' drive. A car is necessary here, but the roads are excellent year-round, and our driveway is cleared of snow regularly by a company. We usually exchange cars for a simultaneous exchange, and arrange to have you met at the airport.
