Neighbourhood

The cottage is about 3 miles from a small shop, pub and filling station. The villages of Carrick and Ardara are around 6 miles / 10 km and 10 miles / 15 km away, with more pubs, shops and amenities. Ardara in particular is very lively with Irish music being played live in many of the bars. The cliffs at Slieve League, the highest sea cliffs in Europe, are 10 miles / 15 km away. The nearest beach is at Maghera, about 6 miles / 10km away. It’s huge! It’s only 7 miles / 12 km to the charming village of Glencolumbcille with its folk village depicting life and homes in Donegal through the ages. There is a beautiful beach here too - stand on the beach facing west and the next landfall is North America! The cottage is in a get-away-from-it-all location on the edge of north west Europe. It gives you the chance to kick back, relax and reconnect with your loved ones. The peace and quiet you experience here stays with you long after you leave. We are well placed for visiting all parts of Donegal with nowhere in the county more than 80 miles away.
