General Overview
Our home is a beautiful blend of an historic log cabin built in 1915 and a modern custom home. It is situated on an acre of mature, park-like Ponderosa Pine forest, providing beauty and shade. A guest house on the property, built in 1917 and known as The Creamery, can serve to host visitors or your own staycation!
Enjoy luxurious beds and linens, and a roomy step-in shower hand-built with Italian tiles. Enjoy custom woodwork by local craftsmen (and us!) and local artwork.
The entire house, Creamery, and grounds are for guests except for a couple of closets and drawers. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. This home is gorgeously remodeled yet retains historic charm and quirks with unique spaces full of character and grace. Guests must be comfortable with this and with operating the wood burning stoves in winter.
The Space
There is one main bedroom with a handmade aspen queen bed. Other guests can sleep in the loft (up a very sturdy ladder in the living room) on a queen-size futon, or in the sunroom (on a queen size futon couch that turns folds down to a bed). You can also sleep in the Creamery, on a brass bed (full size).
One bathroom only - with a step-in shower, and a claw foot tub.
The house is heated with two woodburning stoves, one in the kitchen and one in the living room. If you stay at our cabin in the shoulder seasons or winter, you need to be familiar with heating with wood and starting a fire.
The kitchen is well stocked with small appliances, cookware, and utensils and features a four-burner gas stove and oven.
Guest Access
The cabin is one story with a ladder-accessed loft. One to four steps access the house via patios and porches, depending on which door you use.
Notes
There are plenty of seating options outside, a hot tub and wood-fired sauna, fire ring and BBQ.
If you enjoy reading, music, movies, or other entertainment options you’ll find comfy places to do it (including shady hammocks!) and excellent Wi-Fi for on-line access.

We are a recently retired, child-free couple interested in nature. We love birding, hiking, nature photography and journaling, and exploring protected areas.
"During the last half of August, first half of September, we're planning backpack trips in Olympic, Rainier, and North Cascades. Looking for lodging between forays in the backcountry."
