General overview
The property of approximately one hectare includes a completely renovated old mill, as well as outbuildings, a large garden, an orchard and a wood, all crossed by the Couze Chambon, a magnificent trout river.
The space
The house is in 2 parts, the one corresponding to the old mill including the large living room renovated in 2019, as well as 4 bedrooms, a bathroom and a toilet; and the more recent extension, including a large, very bright glass roof, 2 spacious mezzanines, another bathroom and another WC.
Guest access
The large living room and the glass roof are on the ground floor (with bathroom and toilet), on the first floor there are 2 bedrooms, bathroom, WC and on the second 2 other bedrooms. In the basement there is a laundry room and a cellar.
Notes
The house overlooks a very large enclosed garden with trees, crossed by a very beautiful river, the couze chambon. There are also outbuildings for parking vehicles, a vegetable garden, and numerous outdoor games for children (large trampoline, swings, slide, football cages, basketball hoop, etc.). Fishermen will not even have to travel to indulge in their passion, and others can simply enjoy the coolness of the water for swimming in summer!

Neighbourhood
The property is located in the heart of nature, lulled by the sound of water. The only neighbors you may encounter are the animals of the forest (birds, squirrels, martens, ermines, deer, etc.) and the river (fishing birds, fish, crayfish, and sometimes, for the lucky ones, the otter!) .
Getting around
The town of Champeix is just 1 km away, with all the main shops (bakery, restaurants, newsagent, butcher, pharmacy, post office, grocery store, supermarket, etc.).
We are located just 10 minutes from the small village of Saint-Nectaire, famous for its AOP cheese, in the heart of Auvergne, at the southern end of the Chaîne des Puys, recently listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.
There are also numerous mountain lakes with beaches designed for swimming.
The Super-Besse resort is only 25 km away (depending on the season, hiking, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, ziplining, mountain biking, paragliding, hot air ballooning, etc.).
Access to the A75 motorway (free) at 8km, SNCF station at 8km, the town of Issoire at 15 km and Clermont-Ferrand (Aulnat airport) at 25 km.
The motorway network allows you to get to Lyon in 2 hours, to the Mediterranean Sea in 3 hours, and to Bordeaux or Paris in 4 hours.

We are a couple of physiotherapists with 3 children aged 8 to 13. We traveled a lot before they were born, and now that they have grown up we want them to discover all the richness of our world; we think home swapping is a great way to do that!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
