Neighbourhood
The area we live in is kind of quiet, but also quite close to the city centre. We live within walking distance to a grocery store, a bakery, a fish and delicacies shop, a beach and several playgrounds. You can get to the city centre in 3 minutes by car, or 20 minutes by foot.
Larvik has a fantastic coastline and many bathing spots in both saltwater and freshwater. The nearest beach is a 10 minute walk from home, but if you drive (you may use our car), there are many other beaches to choose from. There are also a couple of saunas which you may rent, and you can cool off in the ocean. Only 2 km from our house you can find the beautiful spa hotel Farris Bad (adults only).
Only 2,5 km from home, you will find Bøkeskogen, which is Norway’s largest and the world’s northernmost beech tree forest. There are different walking trails in Bøkeskogen, and you can finish your walk with a meal or coffee at the local restaurant Bøkekroa.
The popular summer town, Stavern, is only a 12 minute drive from home. If you travel with kids, you should visit Foldvik Family Park, which is a 15 minute drive from home. It is open on weekends from May 24th, open daily from June 21st to August 3rd, and then open on weekends until the end of August.
Nearest airport
Torp Sandefjord lufthavn (nearest, 22 km from home)
Gardermoen Oslo lufthavn (biggest, 182 km from home)

People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
