Neighbourhood
The house is located in a small village which is 3 minutes from a large rocky sea: Castro which is undoubtedly the best sea in Salento. Salento is a very fascinating place. There are many villages with beautiful houses and churches. Lecce is 30 minutes away by car. It's a place worth visiting. It is famous for its baroque churches and architecture. You can take day trips every single day and move from one sea (Adriatic) to another (Ionian). To see images of spectacular places in the area, simply google: Gallipoli, Castro, Otranto, Porto Cesareo, Lecce, Santa Caterina Galatina, Specchia, Zinzulusa, Maldives of Salento

Brindisi 40 km
Getting around
The house overlooks the most beautiful stretch of coast from Otranto to Santa Maria di Leuca, one of the most beautiful in Italy. Well aware of the cyclists who pass many when the season is not too hot.
In 15 minutes you can follow the paths that lead you to creep between the rocks into coves where you can dive into the crystal clear sea that you can see from home. A quarter of an hour's drive along the coast road brings you to the port of Santa Maria di Leuca, the strip of land in the south of Italy that separates the Adriatic Sea from the Ionian Sea. Ideal for discovering the caves and jagged cliffs full of coves where you can snorkel. For sea lovers we go to the famous Maldives of Salento in Gallipoli with its white sand, but also Marina di San Gregorio, Torre Vado, Pescoluse, Punta Suina up to Santa Maria al Bagno and the incredible nature reserve of Porto Selvaggio. Closer to home Marina di Novaglie, Marina di Guardiola, the natural pools of Marina Serra, Porto di Tricase and then Castro, Santa Cesarea Terme, Marina Marittima, Porto Badisco, Torre dell'Orso, etc. Otranto. etc.
And the thousand baroque cities of the interior, rich in history, with squares, palaces, churches and castles to visit. Tricase, Specchia, Ruffano, Casarano, Maglie, Gallipoli to name a few and then Lecce, the heart of Salento baroque, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. And in summer each village has its own festival, a dance party (the famous stings), listening to music and eating a menu of traditional specialties cooked by the ladies of the village. And if like us you love good food, you should know that Apulian cuisine is one of the best and most varied cuisines in Italy. Tradition survives here, the pasta is made exclusively by hand, the dishes are mostly based on vegetables and fish, the meat is lamb or pork. The cuisine is rich in excellent oils, cheeses and above all wines. The restaurants set their tables outdoors, in the charming little squares of the villages or on the terraces overlooking the sea. We give you fantastic addresses..

Very important: we only travel in Europe and Italy. I would like to trade with Greece, Portugal, Munich, Canary Islands, Sardinia,
We are a married couple we would like to exchange with another couple. We are non-smokers. We have already done 16 exchanges and they have all worked very well.
We like travelling, cooking/eating out, music and we like spending time with friends but also meeting other people.
We would like to travel more - and experience places as residents - not as tourists!
Last but not least, we will take care of your home as if it were our own!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
