General Overview
Located in the mountains of North Carolina, Boone is the best-kept secret of the southeast United States. We have four beautiful seasons, a large tourism industry, and a mid-sized university. There are three ski resorts in the high country area, one which is less than 10 minutes from our home. Our summers are mild and are often a welcome relief from the heat of much of the rest of the United States. Boone is known for its hiking, river tubing, kayaking, and other outdoor adventures. Our home is located in the heart of Boone but is situated on two acres making it extremely private yet still convenient to local shopping, dining, hiking, and other high country attractions.
The Space
Welcome to Sweet Retreat! This is the perfect home-away-from-home for cheering on the App State Mountaineers, hitting the slopes, taking in the beautiful fall foliage, or enjoying the cool mountain summers.

Even though it's located right in town, this home is situated on two wooded acres with tons of privacy.
Guest Access
Guests are welcome to use all rooms and spaces on the main floor. The front entrance has no steps and makes for easy access. The garage may not be available for use.
Notes
There is an apartment downstairs that has its own separate entrance. There will most likely be tenants living in the apartment during your stay. They have their own private entrance as well as designated parking spaces. They will not bother you upstairs.
If the apartment is not booked, then it can be included in the exchange. It adds two bedrooms, one full bath, a kitchen, dining area, living room, and laundry. All together, the house and apartment sleeps 10 comfortably.
During snow events, the driveway will not be plowed. 4WD or AWD is highly recommended.

Our home is 2-3 minutes from the center of Boone. Five minutes from Appalachian State University and 10 minutes to App Ski Mountain.

Getting Around
Guests will need access to a car as public transportation is limited. Uber is available but is not super reliable. If requested, we will consider leaving a vehicle for our guests to use.
