Neighbourhood
Quiet residential neighborhood, the area started to develop around 2005 and the houses around are therefore pretty new. There is a nice 1K walk along the lake with some sculptures.
There is a ICA grocery store in the center of the village. A great bakery/coffee place with awesome bread and buns. There are a low key local restaurant with a terrasse by the lake and a simple pizza place in Stallarholmen. More cafés and restaurants in nearby Mariefred and Strängnäs.
We have some bikes (not new or fancy :-) ) and Selaön offers nice cycling opportunities with several compelling features for bike enthusiasts:
Bike Trail Highlights:
- The island features four cycling trails, two on the mainland and two on Selaön itself
- Trails are easy to navigate and range between 20-30 kilometers long
- No special cycling skills are required, making it accessible for most riders
- Scenic Landscape and Historical Attractions
- Cyclists can enjoy a beautiful agricultural landscape with: stately estates and farms, ancient monuments and Viking-era rune stones, large historical grave fields that showcase the area's rich Viking heritage

There are also some nice thrift/antiques stores (not fancy though).

Getting Around
It is possible not to have a car if you intend just to stay in the house and buy food in the local grocery store.
To visit the area, such as the Gripsholm Castle, take the steam train to Taxinge Slott or visit the cute towns of Mariefred and Strängnäs we suggest that you have a car as the bus schedule is not as frequent as in a big city.
