General Overview

This is a very unique cabin that is near the top of Hahns Peak in Colorado. It is very difficult to get to, and requires backcountry skills in the winter to get to it, and a substantial 4 wheel drive vehicle (ie Jeep Wrangler) or willing to hike up to 5 kilometers. It is beautiful and serene in the winter and a great remote mountain getaway in the summer. The skiing right outside of the cabin for a self-powered experienced skier is unrivaled. To be clear, there is little electricity (one solar panel) or running water. It is a rustic cabin where you will have to collect or bring your own water and it has an outhouse. It is a magical place in the winter for solitude and skiing if you understand avalanche protocol. It is on a 50 Acre private ski area that is yours to utilize. During the summer time it is accessible with a 4 - wheel drive and skills to drive up the summer road. As I've said, a Subaru has made it up, but a GMC Tahoe couldn't... all has to do with the driver and the skills. All is all, it's a great place for getting away and the stars and views are spectacular.

The Space

It is a one room cabin with a loft up top for the bed. It measures 10 feet by 12 feet inside (3 meters x 4 meters). It has a wood burning stove and a 2 burner cooking stove and all the firewood is provided. Plenty of "Survival food" in the cabin.

Guest Access

The main floor is one room with the cooking area, heating area and sitting area all in one spot. The loft upstairs requires you to ascend the ladder straight up to the double futon bed up top.
