General Overview

Our mid century home is in a quiet neighborhood with large properties, yet ten minutes drive (15 minutes by bike) from downtown Fort Collins with lots of micro breweries, coffee shops, restaurants and the university. The poudre river and several bike paths meander through town and the region. We have a large yard that’s great for kids, soccer, or just lounging. We live 15 minutes from Lori State Park and Horsetooth Reservoir, 20 minutes from the Poudre Canyon, and just over an hour from Denver and Red Rocks Ampetheatre to the south, Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park to the southwest. In addition to the Colorado nature and mountains, there’s hiking, camping and hot springs to explore about an hour northwest in Wyoming. Our region is great for hiking, fly fishing, mountain biking, cycling and camping. Fort Collins is also known for many microbreweries with beer gardens, including some of the first in the country, New Belgium and Odell. There’s also a lot of live music and festivals throughout town, and events at the university. We have bikes and camping gear available.

Our 9 year old just adopted two adorable Gerbils (they are sisters, Whinny and Ramona)! They are quiet and gentle, and happy to stay in their home. Their home is in his room and they are low maintenance. We ask guests to give them a tbsp of food per day, and change their sand bath every few days. This is a small container with sand that needs to be dumped, washed out and filled with a new layer of special sand.

The Space

We have a large main room with an open layout (family room, dining room and kitchen). The room and adjacent master bedroom is lined with a wall of windows and a large deck, facing west to take in the Mountain View and sunsets. We have three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom downstairs (1 with couch/pull out queen bed) Tv room and big sectional downstairs. Cozy gas fireplace and sitting area in living room on main floor. Large yard.

Neighbourhood

The neighborhood is peaceful and friendly. We are ten minute drive/fifteen minute bike from downtown.

Getting to my home

Denver International Airport is the main airport and is just over an hour from us. There are shuttles, busses or car rental.

Nearest airport

DIA is just over an hour.

Getting Around

We may have a car available for you to use (can discuss). We also have bikes available and camping gear.

We are an adventurous, nature loving family in Colorado. We love exploring different places, cultures and making friends from around the world. Sometimes it will just be us two, and sometimes we travel with our children and/or my parents. We have 5 year old twins and a 9 year old. I work in the arts and at Colorado State University. My husband works for a foundation that supports music, community and non profits. Our boys are energetic, but well behaved and respectful (especially when staying in your home!). These are not just our opinions, but we receive this feedback regularly from friends, family and teachers. We would be honored and grateful to be guests in your home and would treat your home with respect and care. We are non smokers and tidy. We love animals, but currently the only pets we have are sweet gerbil sisters (Whinny and Ramona). They are gentle, quiet and happy to stay in their habitat in our eldest son's room.
