General Overview
We live in Malmö, the third biggest city in the country, in southern Sweden. Our home is located in one of the most popular and beloved areas, Sankt Knut. Vibrant and really central, yet peaceful with almost no traffic, beautiful courtyards and charming gardens, coffee shops, restaurants, bakery and public transport around the corner. Folkets park with both night life and Malmö’s biggest playground is a few minutes away, as well as Möllan with its' food market. You’re down at the sandy beach in twenty minutes by bike, and train takes you to wonderful Copenhagen (Denmark) in less than 30 minutes. We love life in Malmö and can't wait to let you experience it too, by welcoming you to our home.
The Space
Our apartment is two-story and has much of a townhouse feeling. Summer time we keep doors open to easily walk in and out enjoying the garden, shared with friendly neighbors. There's plenty of room for everybody and you can choose whether you prefer privacy or want to chit-chat. There are toys, bikes etc., as well as barbeque and sitting areas.
As for now, the apartment is 85 sqm, but we will end up having 125 sqm at the end of the year (2025) as we bought the apartment next door and will merge them. For exchanges before the merge this is our set up:
Main floor:
– Kitchen and dining area in open space with living room
– Kid's room with single bed (90 cm)
– Guest toilet
Downstairs:
– Master bedroom with family bed (180+90 cm where the 90 cm is able to separate)
– Kid's room with single bed (90 cm)
– Bathroom, with waterfall shower
For swaps after merge this will be added to main floor:
– One more kid’s room with single bed (90 cm)
– One more bathroom
– A bigger living room, separate from kitchen and dining area
Notes
There is access to sauna shared with neighbors. Make a reservation (for free) and have the space all to yourself. There are two showers and a bathtub in connection to the sauna as well.

Neighbourhood
Malmö is a vibrant and diverse city that offers a perfect blend of culture, history and modern attraction. It’s known for its rich cultural scene, and whether you're visiting the Malmö Art Museum, exploring the city's history at the Malmöhus Castle, or enjoying outdoor concerts in the summer, there's always something to do. Best of all, many cultural experiences are free, allowing you to explore the city without breaking the bank.
Malmö is also incredibly family-friendly, with interactive museums, large playgrounds, and plenty of green spaces for picnics and relaxation. It’s a great summer destination with outdoor activities and beautiful beaches just a short distance from the city center. It also has a great culinary scene and offers a wide variety of dining options at every price point. From casual street food to Michelin-starred restaurants.
Beyond the city, the surrounding region has a lot to explore. You can take a short trip to natural wonders like Söderåsen Nature Reserve or visit the charming town of Lund, known for its historic university and botanical gardens. For a quick escape, the train takes you to Copenhagen in 30 minutes, where you can enjoy amusement park Tivoli, northern Europe’s largest aquarium Den blå planet, or simply the Danish atmosphere (“hygge”). Last but not least, southern Sweden has plenty of beautiful, sandy beaches within an hour’s reach, or even less.
Nearest airport
Copenhagen airport (Kastrup) is 20 minutes away with the train. The train station (Triangeln) is 1 kilometer away from our house.
Getting Around
We're just in the middle of Malmö and the easiest way to get around is on foot or by bike. We rarely drive our car in the city as everything is so close. We have bikes both for adults and kids and are happy to share them with you. Public transport works really well too, and the bus stop is 2 minutes from our door. For trips outside Malmö it's nice to have a car but many places are accessible without a car too, as train connections are good.

Surroundings
The neighborhood
Make sure to visit popular Folkets park, a five-minute walk from our home. Grab something to eat, have a beer, let the kids explore the multiple play areas (splash pad and free air pillow in the summer!), and snap a few photos of the beautiful, colorful scenery.
Hang out in Malmö and experience the atmosphere. Grab a coffe in beautiful cultural heritage quarters St Gertrud, visit Malmö Art Hall with free entrance, and then have go hang out at the vibrant indoor market Malmö saluhall, offering a wide variety of fresh, local produce, gourmet foods, housed in a beautifully restored historic building.
Malmö beach
Hang out on the beach while enjoying views of the iconic Turning Torso skyscraper. Also make sure to visit the beautiful cold bath house "Kallis", open all year around, for sauna and (outside summer time) a cold plunge bath.
Go for a day trip to stunning Mölle (1 hour and 15 minutes by car)
More day trips we love: Take the local ferry to Ven island and explore by bike, go see Ale's stones, the impressive stone ship formation from the iron age, located on a hill with stunning views, experience the magic of Tivoli, Copenhagen's fairy-tale amusement park loved worldwide, and visit Österlen to enjoy both golden rapeseed fields and stunning beaches.
