Hello, thank you for showing interest in our home.
We love to travel and exchange houses, but I am a teacher and exchanges are only possible during school holidays.
We live in a large apartment (by Spanish standards).
We moved out of the apartment where we lived for 20 years in the spring of 2024. We love this "new" home of ours.
The apartment has four bedrooms.
Our flat has three bedrooms and beds for four adults. There is a full sink and a guest toilet.
The double bedroom and the living room overlook a quiet patio-garden.
In May 2024 we renovated the kitchen, the floor, the electrical installation and the bathrooms.
The Space
Room 1: we used it as a studio. There is a desk (1.70 m) on which two people working at the same time can easily be accommodated. My husband works remotely twice a week. I'm a teacher and often work at home. There are two office chairs.
Rooms 2 and 3: daughter and son rooms. They are not very large, but both have a bed (1.05 m), wardrobe and desk.
Room 4: master bedroom. Double bed (1.35 m), wardrobe, chest of drawers.
The apartment is large, but can only accommodate 4 adults, as we only have three beds. Young children can share a bed. If needed, we can provide you with an inflatable mattress to accommodate additional people (let us know, we can find solutions).
When we moved in 2024, we renovated kitchen, bathrooms, electricity, and floors.
The kitchen is fully equipped: microwave, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and washer and dryer.
There is also a laundry room with the washing machine and clotheslines.
There is a full bathroom with shower and an additional toilet with sink and toilet.
Barcelona is hot and humid in summer. Of course it is hot, but when the windows are open there is a breeze that helps to get you through the summer. However, there is air conditioning in the master bedroom and dining room. One of the bedrooms has a ceiling fan. We also have several fans that can be moved.
We overlook a large courtyard, the view is open. The area is silent. I often see the sun rise or set. Sometimes the view of the sky is just beautiful.
We have two cats. We'd love for you to take care of them. Both are friendly and discreet, although very friendly. They will ask that we feed and care for them (in case litter is a problem, we will look for a solution). They will stay in the apartment to keep you company.
Guest Access
We live on a fifth floor, building with elevator, two entrances in the building.
Notes
We are members of another exchange site.
We started exchanging our house years ago in a company that disappeared: Love Home Swap.
We have been to Rome, Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam, Granada, Venice, Padova, Bologna.
We can make exchanges during school vacation periods. We cannot offer the house during the course.
We want to continue traveling in Europe, at the moment we are not considering transoceanic trips.
We LOVE home exchanges. We started this adventure of offering our home back in 2016 in another company that no longer exists, "Love home swap". Over the years we have been lucky enough to stay in wonderful places: Rome, Paris, London, Madrid, Granada, Amsterdam, Padua, Bologna and Venice. We enjoyed all our stays.
We love staying in a CASA after a day of walking around the city. We appreciate the comfort of a true home with everything one could need.
If we agree on an exchange with you, when you return home all the beds will be made. Towels will be in the bathrooms, ready to be used.
Our guests can use shampoo, soap and other items.
This is a primary residence. You will find basic products such as pasta, rice, sugar, salt... Don't hesitate to use basic products or anything you find in the fridge.
A lady comes in weekly to help us clean up. We take care of the cleaning costs. No extra charges at our home.
Sometimes my husband and I travel alone, but most of the time we are accompanied by our daughter and son (university students), depending on the destination.

Neighbourhood
We live in Hospitalet de Llobregat, one street is Hospitalet, the next is Barcelona.
There are two metro lines near our house:
Line 1, station two minutes away. It takes you to the city center in 15 minutes.
Line 10 to 10 minutes, direct connection to the airport.
There are all kinds of shops in the area: groceries, bakeries, supermarkets and a market where locals shop.
There is a very complete supermarket two minutes from home where you can find anything you need. They have a fish stall and a meat stall.
Just around the corner there are two supermarkets that are open late into the night (ideal when you need something and other shops are closed).
You will also find many bars, restaurants and cafes.
Our favorites:
For coffee and pastries: Koma
Pizza: Papa Pizza and Il Mago
Restaurant: Antoxo, El Sentit (right in front of our building) and El Pecat (definitely our favorite).
In case you feel the need to visit a shopping centre, we are a 10-minute walk from "Gran Vía 2" a shopping centre with all kinds of shops and cinemas.
We live in a neighbourhood that has changed a lot in recent years. We are six minutes from "Ciutat de la Justícia". In 15 minutes we can walk to the business district of Hospitalet with the most recent architecture (Toyo Ito, Jean Nouvel, Óscar Tusquets...).
Getting to my home
We are next to the Santa Eulalia metro that connects with the city center. The metro that connects to the airport is 8 minutes away.
