General overview

Our place is perfect for a small family. It gets all the afternoon sun in the winter (but good airconditioning for Perth summers), and balances being modern and convenient with homely and cosy. With a king bed in the master bedroom, and a twin with trundle bed in the second bedroom, my favourite part is a resort style shower with 2 shower heads for feeling a bit of luxury. Its the perfect little unit for exploring Perth. We have 2 courtyards - one covered for rainy or hot days, and a front one with a swing seat for enjoying the sunshine and people watching. Set up for toddlers, there is a swing, climbing ropes, a climbing tower, and all the standard kids toys, high chair, cupboard locks, baby gates and conveniences. There's a desk available for a home office nook if needed (monitor, wifi, standard office setup is already here but byo laptop). A car is available for use, with 2 car seats if needed. There's even a medium sized dog door if you have pets. There's a grocery store, pharmacy and 7/11 a 300m walk away. We're a 10km drive to the Perth CBD, similar to the beach, and really accessible to all Perth majors highway routes to get in any direction easily. We're a family of 2 - I'm a veterinarian who likes reading, lakes and bush walking, and a solo mum by choice to an intrepid 2 year old who loves travel, dogs, and dinosaurs.

The space

We have a lovely, cosy 2 bedroom unit. The master bedroom has a king bed with storage above the bedhead and plenty of drawers made available to you, as well as a tv and full height mirror. The second bedroom has a large twin bed, with a pull out trundle to double the sleeping capacity. The lovely plantation shutters, warm decor and afternoon dappled sun make it an inviting and cosy kids room. The huge box of toys helps! The shower adds a touch of luxury with dual shower heads and space to lie down for that resort feel. There are two lovely courtyards, one fully enclosed out the front with a swing seat and climbing frame for sunny afternoons in the dappled light. The rear courtyard is undercover for rainy or hot days, with a swing and more climbing kit for the kids but dangly lantern lights for chilling in the balmy Perth evenings. A modern kitchen and open plan dining, a comfortable 5 seater sofa, and a nook for home office if needed, it really does offer a couple or small family everything you need in a simple modern setting. Topped with kids equipment for toddlers (high chair, safety gate, ladder to the toilet etc), lots of safety features like roller shutters and security doors for the safety conscious, and a car available with car seats if needed, we've got it all.

Guest access

There is direct access from the roadside with no stairs, just one gate to enclose the yard.

Getting around

There's a small shopping centre 300m away with groceries, pharmacy, dollar store, 7/11 and liquor store. The suburb itself is very accessible to everywhere, with 2 different routes to the city right next to us. On a really bad peak hour traffic, it's 30mins to the CBD but most trips it's 15mins. There's also a bus route direct to the city less than a 5 minute walk away. The arterial routes also mean it's really simple to get to the beach or the hills, the Swan valley wine region, or the freeway down south for exploring. There's a small SUV available for use, with car seats if needed.

I'm a veterinarian and solo mum by choice to a fun, independent, courageous toddler. We're just starting to dip our toes into worldschooling, starting off with smaller trips so I can practice working remotely overseas. We love learning about the world and the people in it, so pretty keen to stay places that immerse is in a new culture. Access to walks and wildlife is a bonus. Plus obviously with a toddler, we like a good park and things we can walk to :-) I love balancing calm quiet opportunities to read and enjoy nature, with being a huge foodie and purveyor of nice wine.
