Our home is our peaceful sanctuary, a mix of modern and eclectic, our quiet haven from busy life, just the right size for a couple or small family. Single-story living in a small gated community. Conveniently located in north-central Tucson, a few miles from the University, 1/2 mile from a bike path that circles the city, and a quick drive to beautiful Sonoran desert hikes.
The space
There are two bedrooms (both with queen beds) and two full bathrooms (one ensuite with a large walk-in shower, and one hall bath with a tub/shower). A third bedroom is set up as a home office, but could fit a small air mattress. We have a comfortable living room, kitchen with newish appliances, and a breakfast nook with full morning sun. The house has high speed wi-fi, TV with streaming channels (no cable), and plenty of board games and puzzles. And lots of books! The outdoor patio is my favorite place to sit and listen to the birds, with shade in the morning, sun in the afternoon, and beautiful sunset views. If you're lucky enough to be here during a rainstorm, you can enjoy the very special smell of the Creosote plants behind the wall.
Guest access
The house is all one story. Front entrance has one small step (3 inches) and garage access has no steps at all. However, the doors are not wide enough for a wheelchair.
Notes
Our older cat stays home while we travel, and will need daily food and litter cleaning. She mostly hides from new people, but will be friendly once she realizes you're staying and friendly!

Getting around
You will need a car in this area, as public transportation is very limited. There are a few stores (Safeway, Trader Joe's) and restaurants within a 1-mile walk, but to really see Tucson you will need to drive.

Single mom with a newly empty nest. I work remotely for a small non-profit and am looking forward to traveling and working from new locations! Experienced traveler, and often have people house-sitting while I am away for long periods, but new to home exchange. I have family, friends and work reasons to travel to CO, MA, NY and NH, and am hoping to spend some time in Europe over the next 2-3 years. Also open to suggestions of other places to explore, especially if they are by water!
"My son is attending college in Colorado and I am happy to visit or spend extended periods there."

"I grew up in Massachusetts and am always happy to have an excuse to visit friends and family. Preferences are for Newton/Waltham/ Arlington/Lexington area, as well as Western MA and anywhere by water, but open to exploring new areas."
Dates flexible
"Maine coast is one of my favorite places. Anytime between May - October."
