General overview
For 2020, available June 15th until Aug 18th
Our place could be the perfect basecamp when visiting the archipelago and the Stockholm city attractions.
On our premises we have two buildnins, our main house and a guest house.
The villa is a typical wooden archipelago house, modern standard with a large open kitchen, two bathrooms, a large veranda and a garden. And 3 bedrooms on the second floor, fitting 5-6 persons in one master kingsize bedroom, one queensize bedroom, and a regular bedroom with a bed sofa.
A separate guest house is a old bakery from the 18th century, also modern standard and carefully renovated. In this house, you sleep on the loft in a king size bed. We mostly have couples in this house, but at times, one or two kids can fit there as well.
The sea is close, and you have various ways to enter the water. There is a small beach and cliffs with sunset nearby.
The area of Resarö consist of a couple of hundred large villas from where people commute to work or are summer guests. It is a calm and safe community, most people are families with kids. When walking the island, you are surrounded by boat piers and marinas.
Public communication is great, the bus stop is 150 m from the house, the ferries about 800m walking and you can easily bike safely to vaxholm for dinner.
The harbour for ferries is Vaxholm, and they take you in-bound to the city center of Stockholm, or out-bound, to the many remote islands of the archipelago.
The space
A typical Swedish archipelago style house, modern standard in all rooms, two bathrooms and two bedrooms, suitable for a family of 4-6. Garden with gas grill, parking and plenty of space on the terrace
About 400 meters from the sea, nearby good hiking tracks, beaches and the Vaxholm harbour.
You can borrow our bikes in the summer and cross country skiis in the winter. At times, the sea gets deep frozen allowing skating.
Other attractions are the historical views in the vaxholm city center, the canoe rental place just 500m from the house, or the ferries taking you either OUT exploring the archipelago or IN to Stockholm city , in just 1 hour.

Neighbourhood
The house is located in the Village of Ytterby, on a charming island called Resarö. The premises is on the old farm of ytterby, and we also host airbnb guests in the Bakery house, next to this building. There is a separate entrance and veranda to that house, with good privacy in between the two houses.
Vaxholm is often referred to as the "port to the Stockholm archipelago" with 23 000 island to explore. The name Vaxholm comes from Vaxholm Castle, which was constructed in 1549 on an islet with this name on the inlet to Stockholm, for defense purposes, by King Gustav Vasa. The town of Vaxholm was established in 1558, when King Gustav Vasa bought some farms from Count Per Brahe (the elder). The designated coat of arms reminds of the fortifications as well as shipping industry.
In the 1880s, it became a popular spa town, and many wooded summer houses were built by people from Stockholm.
It was not until 1912 that it allowed houses to be built from materials other than wood, giving the town a distinctive appearance.
Check out the vaxholm website for events, video tours etc
